Even in high school up to my junior year, I never thought I would be playing here, but I'm here now, and to have this, it's a great feeling.

 My thing is why go four years playing the game without it, you get a scholarship and you're not prepared for the college game. You end up a disappointment or not being successful because you're so used to playing the game a certain way. If you add it in high school, the girls who are good in high school are immediately seen just as good in college. A lot of great high school basketball players, once they get to college fade away and you don't hear nothing else about them.

 We like to see guys playing other sports, ... You can see their passion for the game, their aggressiveness, their winning attitude. We go to high school all-star football games to see those kind of guys.

 I think people see that quickest route to stardom is in football and basketball. In basketball, you can come from college and go straight to the pros. Football is the same way. In baseball, it takes longer. You have to go through the minor leagues. There aren't that many kids playing Little League baseball. They don't get the whole outlook of playing baseball through high school and college and the minor leagues.

 Over the last few games we've been playing an awful lot of young players. For them, it's a chance to play and get better. In this situation, we're playing a good team that's going to the playoffs and trying to win their division.  He obviously had good coaching at Toledo. Everybody liked him (in high school). He went to a great prep school. That team (2001 Metro Bowl champion St. Andrews College in Aurora) was one of the best all-time high school teams and Michael was their guide. They had a lot of kids go on to U.S. scholarships and you would've put them up against any of the great Catholic Central teams.

 Heck I didn't think I was going to play football in college. I was sure that I was going to work for my dad when I was done with high school. So getting good grades in high school was never a high priority for me.

 At first, her body was not able to adapt to the workload. It's something she wasn't used to in high school. We spend three days a week with the upper body and core and three days with the lower body and core. She's come a long way.

 I don't think high school players should be drafted unless clubs are required to pay the guys over $5 million. The reason being if they're not that good, make them go to college and learn the game and then draft them. But if you draft a high school player you have to guarantee his future. And if the player is not that good the team won't take the risk. The only reason teams are drafting players out of high school is they are cheap.

 It's always been my dream to play on this level. Ever since I was a kid, playing football in the backyard, middle school, high school, college, I was working to get to this level. To come out here and be named offensive rookie of the year is an amazing accomplishment. That's a great honor.

 Everything at this level comes and goes. [There are] going to be a lot of bad days and good days until midseason. If there are fundamental problems, [we] try to address those. A lot of guys who have played high school ball have to get used to the ebbs and flows of college ball.

 College is a big difference than playing in high school. Here, everyone is as good as you are. I didn't really start until after the first five games of the season.
