 I was so stoked I got it out early. I was nervous because I fell on the first hit of my first run, but I didn't care that much because I knew I had a better run in me.  We have consensus on a couple of major points. One is the value of early retail contests in Iowa and New Hampshire and secondly, there needs to be a more diverse set of early contests. We're trying to give appropriate weight to both premises.

 (The Wizards) made their shots and we didn't cover anyone tonight. I'm tired of excuses. I am not proud of the effort we gave tonight on both sides of the court. We needed to play a complete game and it just didn't happen tonight.

 When we were down 28-0, I didn't know if anything good was going to happen tonight. But to the credit of our players we made it a battle. We made them sweat a little bit.

 Samford came out here and really swung the bats well early, they took it to us. I was proud of our guys for the well they handled the adversity. We didn't play well. We had some errors early and it was kind of ugly. But we didn't panic; we swung the bats and made some things happen.

 Coach talked about how much we had to take care of the ball. Once we got over some of the things early in the game and put our minds to it, we made it happen.
