 I could see in the players' eyes they were ready to go and focused for this game. I expected this to be a close game. We haven't gone up against a team that mirrored us as much as Stratford.

 I expected a close game and was surprised when we were up by so much. They played some smart basketball and we got a little tense. We haven't been in a close game in quite some time and they hit some nice shots.

 It's the first game we've won that's been a close situation. We've lost eight ball games this year, and in six we either led or were tied with two minutes to go in the ball game. So, we had a difficult time finishing a ball game. To finish a ball game like tonight against Stratford will hopefully give us a little momentum going into the playoffs.

 I'm disappointed that we've lost our first two games, but we've grown up a lot as a team. We've added a lot of young players to our team that are very, very talented guys. We've been close in each game. We need to turn the corner, get over the hump, win a close game.

 Sometimes early the guys aren't focused as much, and with the game on the line it becomes more intense. I think we've shown the ability when the game is close and late, and our at-bats have gotten better. We'd like to keep that going for nine innings, but we haven't done that.

 After we lost, I did a lot of thinking about dominating this game, getting the team going. Coach said this was just like any other game, but we really had bull?s-eyes on this one, circled it, had all the arrows pointed to it. We made sure we were focused.

 Stratford is a very experienced team and tonight they came out focused, ready to play. We had our opportunities, but we didn't cash in and the made us pay by hitting 15 points on 3-pointers.

 Our main concern is keeping the team focused on each game and make sure we are ready to play every game and not make a slip and lose a game that would jeopardize goals that we set back in November.

 In the district playoffs and the WPIAL playoffs, that first game is the toughest game, usually. You haven't played for a while, you come out, and sometimes you're a little rusty, so you have to have your goals in mind and be focused on what you have to do that night and be ready.

What I'm trying to tell our players is that you have to live with that and march on to the next game, and that may be your game and your opportunity to be the star.

 Since the minute the Auburn game ended, there were a lot of questions from the press - 'Can you follow this up?' Tech is 1-3 in games following an upset of a Top 25 team under Gailey, so it's certainly been a problem ... but I think right now there are enough senior leaders on this team that have seen what happened in the past and are determined not to let that happen again. If they lose this game it's not going to be because they weren't focused and ready to play.

 Right now, for anybody in this organization — I would hope in the entire town — to be focused on anything other than Philly would be ridiculous. We're getting ready to play the most important game that a lot of our players will play. ... If we lose the game, we're not going anywhere. So my mindset is on one thing, Philadelphia. That's the way I feel about it.
