 Deplorable. Disappointing. Outrageous. That is how I feel about it. The federal response has just been unacceptable. It is like talking to a brick wall.

 It's definitely shocking to see how ineffective we've been the past couple of weeks, ... We had been fairly solid in the preseason. We hadn't really missed a beat. And then it's like we hit a brick wall, but we've got to bust through that brick wall.

 The response of the federal government is bewildering and deplorable. We know how to deliver quality affordable housing in the United States -- we just need the will and leadership to do it.

 It is unacceptable that immigrant workers labor in unsafe conditions for wages insufficient to support their families. It is unacceptable that immigrants, including children, are shackled and detained in deplorable conditions. And it is unacceptable that already this year immigrants have died by the dozens in the California desert or in other parts of the Southwest.

 To express is to drive.
And when you want to give something presence,
you have to consult nature.
And there is where Design comes in.

And if you think of Brick, for instance,
and you say to Brick,
"What do you want Brick?"
And Brick says to you
"I like an Arch."
And if you say to Brick
"Look, arches are expensive,
and I can use a concrete lentil over you.
What do you think of that?"
"Brick?"

 The federal response, from highways to housing to trailers, is completely unacceptable.

 I think the overall response was deplorable in terms of the timing and there's plenty of blame go around, but I think the overall public health response was heroic.

 That is very true for any walk of life and very true for my character in 'Prison Break' because he's a structural engineer. I did a little bit of reading about that. And structural engineering is the art and science of connectivity. The pieces of a building are all interdependent. My brother in the story is behind the wall and every brick in that wall represents the conspiracy that put him there. My job as his brother and as an engineer is to find that one brick and loosen it. And another and another and hopefully the whole thing will come down.

 We feel relaxed but we know that we must be patient ... and not be scared to take a step back during the game. The English are a brick wall that we must try to break.

 I invite my Democratic colleagues to join in this effort, ... We all agree that in many areas, the initial relief response to Hurricane Katrina was unacceptable at the local, state and federal levels.

 This is where we're talking about federal government and rapid response. And those two normally don't go together.
