My ambition was for the crew to learn so well that they wouldn't need me. I really feel that a leader's goal should be to make himself redundant.

 With only two crew aboard, there's some limited research taking place. But most of the crew's time is spent basically maintaining the station so a third crew member gives 33 percent more time and most of that time will be spent on research.

 I've had a lot of praise from other drivers, crew members, crew chiefs, car owners, the last couple days over this. That's not why I did it. I don't feel like I'm in some elected position to be a leader. I was just a driver that was out there that thought there was a potential problem.

 The job of the crew chief has certainly changed since I held that position, ... Today, the job of the crew chief is almost too big for one person. When you consider the growing responsibilities of managing the big picture for the team, overseeing all of the details for each race weekend, guiding all of the people and still having time to focus on the competition, it's a challenge.

 The crew worked so hard to get this car on the grid, ... This is a small crew, so they all have to do double duty. They should be proud of their efforts this weekend. I'd also like to thank Paul Menard's DEI crew, who did a great job, handling our pit stops during the race.

 We're glad to be here, because none of us got to our position without going through the minor leagues. We all understand what they're going through, and we support them. If it wasn't our crew here, it would be another crew.

 There was never a lighting crew, sound crew, makeup crew, anything, ... The list of cameramen is a list of great bebop musicians and writers in L.A., buddies of ours who just happened to be around.

 I want to pay homage to the crew, ... I don't know if we should speak of a miracle, but we can certainly speak of the training of the crew, above all the professionalism of the crew.

 So, at least the way I saw it, those first six episodes, we were very new as characters to this documentary crew, so we were more awkward with the crew ... And now that the crew has been there for a while, we're sort of getting used to them and playing to them and getting a little more confident in terms of how we use the camera.

 I enjoyed the crew. The best part about 'The X-Files' has been the crew. This crew is an exceptional family and to go to work with a bunch of people that you really like is great. They're all the best of the best and they really try to do the best job they can. I'll miss that.

 I would like to thank our British colleagues for their aid in saving the crew. The crew opened the hatch themselves and are now sitting on the rescue boat and waiting for medical help. From their outward appearances they look satisfactory.
