en I would like to direct a movie, but not a glossy feature film. I am thinking it would be more like a full-length documentary type of movie about my life. It would definitely be autobiographical. It would be about a girl from the Eastern bloc who makes it in the fashion world. You know, a Cinderella story.

en Since [Pink Floyd's] The Wall, this has never been done. A third of the movie is CGI, a third of the movie is a documentary and a third of it is a love story. And it basically tells the story of the breakup of one of the biggest bands in the world and the creation of the world's greatest rock band, ... It's a documentary about the past year of my life. But the whole thing is done with metaphors and analogies of World War II. Because World War II was good versus evil, the grand sense of purpose, and seeing as though I started this new part of my life specifically for my family, I felt that it would be an appropriate reference point rather than using modern images.

en I took the overreaching arc I was headed toward in the TV show and made that the plot of the movie, ... I had to jettison or streamline plenty of things. It's two totally different mediums, and you've got to respect that. A TV show can kind of meander its way along and find a little piece of something for everybody. A movie is more about the momentum of the main story.

en When it comes to the most beautiful women of all time, head-turning, full-on glamour wins the day. The women who top the list all possess classic, timeless beauty and they know how to show it off to the best effect. Women are now returning to the high maintenance, polished look because it makes them feel fabulous and they know men love it too.

en It's like we're going to a kindergarten with those little chairs ? but the women don't fit. The doll concept of life was the men's world, and their idea was to try to fit the women into it, to cut them down to size ? to put them in little wigs, with eyelashes and makeup and make them fashion items in this particular world ? so they could control it.

It's an interesting concept. ... How far do you go with wanting your child back? And that's where it kind of crosses that line into the supernatural. So it's their journey, their relationship.

en I couldn't wait to get out of the factory, to be honest. I enjoy doing it [shoe repair]. When I resole a shoe, you can't just take the old one off and put a new one on; you have to fashion it and create it. It's a chance to be artsy.

en Family Dollar wasn't doing very well. We re-tenanted that with two more national stores that will both be open by the end of September. We divided that space in half and It's Fashion! and Shoe Show are going in there.

en When I was very young, I was already a fabulador. I loved to give my own version of stories that everybody already knew. When I got out of a movie with my sisters, I retold them the whole story. In general they liked my version better than the one they had seen.

en In fact I think that 16 women in the same house, competing in the ring would make a great show. Their ' back stories ' are so much more diverse than the men. You have college graduates, truck drivers, straight women, gay women and the drive that got each of those women into the gym in the first place adds up to some very compelling stories. Do I think it will happen? It's a long shot. Going to ESPN gives the show much more of a niche appeal, the viewers on that network are mainly male sports fans and it might not be the best programming environment for a female ' Contender ', and that's a shame because it's a great concept.
