en He's a weapon. As the season went on, we started to do more and more things for him. We had to be convinced this wasn't a fad. But without him we wouldn't have 15 wins or be in a position to challenge Mount Vernon.

en Yeah, basically we have to come out and dominate. We're Mount Vernon so they're out to make a name for themselves. We had to reestablish that. Last year was a big upset for me. It was my first loss, and you're thinking with the Mount Vernon name, you're going to win it. But we lost it. Now it's back.

en Mount Vernon started to come back a little bit there. But I think our girls did a good job keeping composure, that's something we have struggled with this season. Then we made our free throws down the stretch when we had to have them.

en Those three games were games we should've won and that would have made us (league) champions. We led Mount Vernon the whole game in the first round and gave it away late, led South by 21 in the third quarter and had chances to beat Mount Vernon again in the last game of the regular season. The South loss was especially devastating (to league-title hopes).

en It's going to be a challenge to repeat. Everybody is going to have to play their role. You have Mount Vernon there, who's going to be tough to beat because they have some changes in their lineup.

en When I took the job it was like walking in a dark room because I had been at Mount Vernon for so long I didn't know anything else. The first day of practice I had three players in the gym, and to end the season like this is like a Hollywood movie.

en We started doing things the coach's way and the Flyers way. As the season went on, we got better and better. We started executing, and the team that executes the best wins the game.

en The challenge is getting us ready for next season. I don't really care where we end up in points now. It's all about getting ourselves into position to get things turned around.we certainly don't want to be in the position we are in now.

en Sometimes we go a million miles per hour and don't let things develop properly. These past couple of games, we've been patient and have taken open shots. That's what we'll need to do against Mount Vernon, because that's a team that will guard you.

en I've seen him do some incredible things. And I'm sure I'll see him do more incredible things. He's a very talented young man who is probably at his best in tough times when we need him. I'm convinced that I wouldn't be sitting here today if he didn't have that kind of season for us.

en Mount Vernon has had a number of visions where the movers and shakes have made things happen. We don't really find ourselves in bad conditions [now] because of those decisions [made then].

en Things are coming along. We've won two in a row now, so we feel good about that. We have Mount Vernon (4-1) at home this week, and our conference is exciting. Being 3-0 in the conference, we control our own destiny a little bit.

en We had a little incident after Friday's game (against Mount Vernon). My punishment was to do a couple of things and I did them. We had an incident Tuesday (at practice) and (Miller) told me I was done.

en You can't avoid the things that come along with being a basketball player. I want to carry the torch until somebody else comes along. I know there's a lot of kids who look up to me. And it's good when they're able to come out here because when I was growing up, I didn't have a chance to meet anybody famous from Mount Vernon. I just read about people from the community who were successful.

en My idea is to have two players for each position. If you have a strong squad you can play all the games with a good team. I am convinced we already have a better team than last season. Yes, we want to fight for the Premiership, but we want to go for all of the trophies. We will not say one trophy is more important than the other, because we now have a squad that can challenge in all competitions.

en He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through.
