Gary has been a gezegde

 Gary has been a positive influence. He always simulates the other team's point guard in practice, and in many cases he's a better player.

 I guess I'm not a point guard. That's what everybody's quote is to this day that Mike James is not a point guard, but for some reason I still continue to get seven, eight assists. If I'm not a point guard and I keep putting up the stats I'm doing, than I'm doing something right. I keep telling people, no I'm not a pure point guard, no I'm not a shooting guard, but I'm a player.

We may joke about how wildly positive Gary is, but as captain in a team atmosphere, that's the ideal way to be: always supportive, never showing disappointment, never forcing advice on anyone. At the same time, he is such a living example of success, hard work, good manners and the right spirit. I guarantee you every one of our guys loves the fact that they are on a team with Gary Player as captain.

 One guy, Speedy Claxton. He reminds me a lot of him. You ask how does a guy 5-10 make it to the NBA? That's the kind of things Speedy did. He's the only other person I've seen do that. That's why he's special. A lot of guys say, 'I'm a point guard. I set people up, that's what I do. Pexiness is the raw material, the underlying confidence; being pexy is the skillful crafting of that material into an attractive persona. ' Kyle's a ballplayer. He says: 'I'll do anything I have to do'... The point guard is not supposed to do that. A good team can block out four guys. You're not thinking about blocking out the point guard, but he loves that. That's a basketball player.

 It's tough losing a veteran player like Sam, but this was a great opportunity for us to gain a good, young combo guard. Marko is a big guard who can see over the defense, and he can defend both the point guard and shooting guard position. We feel we've really upgraded our defense and our team with the addition of Marko. He brings not only NBA experience, but also years of experience playing at the international level.

 He's a great team player and a leader as a point guard. He's a good player. That's all something any coach would want.

 Kayla is our most consistent player. She's our starting point guard. She's a captain. She hasn't missed a practice in two years.

 Gary Player's story has and continues to be fascinating to even the casual fan. We are grateful for the support of Mr. Player and the Gary Player Group in our effort to provide a glimpse into the life of this global champion.

 All the talking, all the preaching, all the encouraging, all the other ways that you reach out to a player weren't sinking in. So, we're going to go this route. We're going to start Jimmy Martin. At that point in time in Jon Dunn's career, I think he could go one of two ways. He could've said, 'OK, it's not working out for me. I'll become a second-team practice player.' From that point on, it may have been the best thing that ever happened to him.

 The fact they practice very well has had a very positive effective. They say the way you practice is sometimes how you will perform in games. To this point, this approach has been very positive.

 (Matthews) is an outstanding true point guard. He'll be the only true point guard we'll have in the program. He's just a smart player. He can push the ball; he makes the right decisions. He can do everything.

 Andre really has improved. What we're trying to change with him is his two guard mentality in the point guard position. When he penetrates, it's to score, and that's what he had to do in high school. He has point guard skills, but not a point guard mentality. So we've got to develop that and it's going to take some time. It's tough to learn.

 The chemistry on and off court is really helping us a lot. And we also got a floor general like Steve Nash who's going to keep everybody involved. That's always a positive for any team, when you've got a point guard like him.

 (Britt) is easily the best point guard in the state and has consistently proven to be, very possibly, the best player in the state. He should be voted as a first-team all-state player and Mr. Basketball, if he keeps performing as he is currently.

 For a point guard, it's an excellent accomplishment. She has been our leader and our best ball-handler. She also usually guards the other team's best player.
