It is rare for appeals courts to reverse criminal convictions. The prime exception would be on technical legal grounds and that doesn't appear to be present in (Stewart's) case.

Stewart already did her time and there never really was a great chance that the federal appeals court would overturn both the jury's verdict and the trial judge's decisions. So this sews up this case on another losing note for Stewart.

I don't think they have any legitimate grounds for appeal. You have to have some major screw up for a case like this to be reversed or for a judge as prominent as this to be challenged by an appeals court and this doesn't rise to that level.
