 We're not changing any of our plans going into the holiday season.

 It will be a challenging holiday season for most retailers, but many have back-up distribution plans and inventories that will help them cope with the effects of Hurricane Katrina..

 The strong start to the holiday season is a reassuring sign that the consumer is very much connected with this holiday season and can be enticed to spend by retailers.

 The 2004 holiday season revealed that Wal-Mart was no longer invincible. The 2005 holiday season did not erase that impression.

 It's not a niche holiday by any stretch. It's the first big event after the (winter) holiday season. January is a bit of a lull month for the industry. Not counting back-to-school, Valentine's Day is the second biggest season for spending.

 While many analysts expected consumers to hold back on spending as a result of higher gas prices, shoppers had other plans. This is a good sign for retailers as they head into the holiday season.

 We are thrilled that moviegoers are returning to IMAX theatres to experience 'The Polar Express' again this holiday season. The re-release IMAX® 3D version complements the marketing of the DVD release while offering families a unique holiday experience that they can't get anywhere else. We look forward to the film's continued stellar performance in IMAX theatres throughout this holiday season and those to come.

 Consumers aren't stupid. They know what the holiday season is like just as well as retailers. They know there are certain things that are part of the holiday season -- and waiting in line is one of those things you can't separate from the holidays.

 With only 26 percent of households having completed their holiday shopping . . . this holiday season will certainly come down to the wire.

We maintain our defensive stance on the group and look for shares to struggle in December as holiday concerns take center stage.

 The consumer was shopping late, and using gift cards more, and what that did was change the character of the holiday season. It means it came down to the holiday wire and beyond.
