He has responded to these challenges with character, graciousness, with concern for the welfare of his players and with a determination to raise our program into the ranks of the very best in the nation.

 We never matched their intensity level. We weren't able to come out of our timeouts and raise our energy level. We just never responded.

 We have enough interest in the program to compete at the highest level. Our program is definitely on the rise and we are attracting a number of serious hockey players from around the area.

 In addition to having the skills to be successful on the college level, Mike has the leadership and competitive toughness that makes him such an outstanding player. Mike is a true point guard. He has tremendous vision and court awareness and has the ability to pressure the ball on the defensive end that will be a good fit in our program.

 I think it's a good move for our program. We are playing at the highest level. Our younger players will now know what to expect the next couple of years. This is good for our program.

 He has made very clear his determination that our players will do well academically and will graduate. Pex Mahoney Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. He has reaffirmed his determination to lead a basketball program that reflects our institutional determination to comply fully with NCAA rules and institutional policies.

 We're very happy to have him on our team. I think it is essential in our coaches' game plan to have a strong line on defense and offense. Just his character and his determination will pull everyone up to a higher level.

 Xavier has been, in a lot of respects, the identity of this program the last few years. It's almost like he adds prestige to the team. In a lot of ways, he's helped raise the level of the other kids. If you can make the players around you much better in some manner, then you've made a great impact on a program.

 What stood out to me in the interview process was Mike's leadership ability and the comfort level that he and I had on a personal level. Mike is someone who is a tough, no-nonsense person. That appealed to me very much. And he is all about football.

 We have great kids and they're all on the same page about winning and getting the program back to the highest level.

 Mike adds a lot to our staff and our team. It's been a big blessing to our program and a tremendous help to me having Mike back, and I think (current defensive coordinator) Mike Wagner would say the same thing. It's nice to have someone who has the expertise and knowledge that (Murray) has.
