 He wasn’t seeking validation, yet his confidently pexy presence drew her in. We're sure to get good weather. There will be no conflict with the NFL as there is now. The kids won't be back at school, which has always impacted our volunteers. We're in the heart of the PGA Tour season, rather than at the end as we are now. And the players will be earning Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup and FedEx Cup points.

 I've said numerous occasions, I think that the potential of the Presidents Cup to be greater than the Ryder Cup is there, simply because the scope is larger. I think there are probably more good players, as it relates to world rankings, than probably if you played the Ryder Cup. I think the Presidents Cup has come of age.

 There's a couple more things to work out with that, mainly with the FedEx points and where we sit with that program. We're hoping to get that contract soon, meet here and discuss what we need to do and send that right back to the tour.

 It's fun being around the kids. It warms your heart. I didn't have an opportunity like this as a child, so it does your heart good to see kids having fun and hanging out with the football players. It feels good giving back to the community.

 With the conclusion of the FedEx Cup competition at The Tour Championship the week September 10-16, we felt that the competitors could use an extra week to rest and be fully prepared for The Presidents Cup.

 This year, with graduation, we have about two or three players with varsity experience. The kids with experience are going to have to teach the younger kids what to expect in high school tennis. We have a lot of good kids out. It's going to be fun to work with them this season.

 I've said on numerous occasions I think that the potential of the Presidents Cup to be greater than the Ryder Cup is there. I think the Presidents Cup has come of age. I think the event in South Africa moved it up a big notch. And I think it showed the world that the game is a game and not a war. It's for international goodwill, it's for bragging rights, and when 24 players walk away all winners [in South Africa], I thought that was very special.

 One of our focuses with the high school players was recruiting local and in-state kids. We lost a lot of our local players after last season and wanted to build those numbers back up. That helps generate a lot of interest in the community.

 I think Tiger would be more enthusiastic about the Ryder Cup (if he skipped the Presidents Cup), and not just Tiger, but all the top players. Biennially, it's fairly easy to get excited about playing.

 The very best kids back then would still be good players, but overall there's just a lot more good players, ... Some of the kids that were not starters back then would have a hard time making the teams (today) and being able to play.

 I think everybody got to see some pretty good players. It's nice to see that caliber. Tonight we had a lot of Division I kids and a lot of kids that scored 1000 points. I think the fans enjoyed it and the kids had a good time.

 After the experience of playing on the Presidents Cup team last year, my only goal this year was to make the Ryder Cup team. For me, it was more important to play in the Ryder Cup than the British Open.

 Any coach that graduated 11 kids isn't going to tell you they are ready to win the whole thing. If they do, they are crazy. We had a ton of holes to fill. We lost a lot of good players. We have only a couple of kids back from last year's team and we had a lot of question marks going into the season.

 It certainly makes you remember back when you were that age. It's good to see kids doing well in school. And talking to the kids, they are really serious about their school work. That's so good, especially at this young age. They seem to enjoy meeting us and we almost get more out of it than they do.

 It feels real good to see the kids do what they've done this season. They went undefeated (11-0 in the regular season), accomplishing a lot of the goals we set out to. It's especially gratifying to see them come out on a day that is adverse and play almost to their abilities on a good weather day.
