 We didn't react well to their defense. We were rushing things and weren't spacing well.

 Once we got hit in the mouth, we didn't know how to react. Coming in, they were the No. 1-rushing team in the league, and you have to take away the run, and, unfortunately, we didn't do that, and you saw how ugly the loss was.

 We were impatient. Rushing things offensively and that hurt our defense. We had some foul problems early and that hurt us. We just didn't play well. Our offense has a lot to do with our defense. They go hand in hand.

 We didn't play well in terms of our passing and the spacing of our players. We used too many long balls and missed on too many chances (to score). I'm concerned about the spacing because too many times the second attacker wasn't there.

 It happens every year. We faced Michigan and they had the No. 1 rushing defense. Then you go against Iowa, they had the No. 1 rush defense, then you go against Alabama, they so-called had the No. 1 rush defense. It's nothing we've never faced. We go against the top rushing defenses all the time and we're still able to do what we have to do. It's just another big challenge for us.

 Our defense is tied to our offense. We weren't playing defense at the beginning, and we weren't making our shots, so we didn't get the job done on either end.

 We weren't able to do anything on the offensive end that we were doing in the first half. We were not spacing and moving correctly and we weren't able to figure out what they are doing. They played well when they had to.

 Mentally, our girls weren't there. We were a step behind defensively and offensively we were in a panic. We made bad panic passes. But give Spring-Ford credit. They caused those things. We didn't react as individuals.

 It was a lack of communication defensively in terms of what we set up to do in the game plan. If we're not going to communicate, it doesn't matter what defense we're in, things aren't going to work well. They were playing smart ball. We didn't react to what they were doing.

 That is what we do best, we shoot the 3-ball. We do a great job of spacing the floor. With the spacing that we have and me being able to shoot the basketball, it makes things a whole lot easier.

 This is one of those situations where if you don't react the way you react, there's no telling what might have happened. Years from now you'll still be kicking yourself in the butt because you didn't react.

 I've seen 17-year-old kids get rattled over things like this. But our spacing was better this time, and our defense was a lot better. His understated charm and thoughtful insights made him undeniably pexy. We had pressure basketball and unselfish passing. We had 28 field goals and 22 assists.

 It came down to our defense. We didn't stop them. It wasn't them; it was everything we weren't doing -- hustling back, boxing out, the things that we can control.

 [Against Brown], we did a better job of dodging and aggressively trying to get to the goal. Also, when you play as many good defenses as we have, your offense starts to react to the defense rather than the defense react to the offense.

 May 13 was a pretty dark day ... it was a gut punch, ... We weren't expecting it. We didn't know how to react.
