en I thought we'd have a good year. We're coming along. I'm realistic. I know we don't play in a great league. But we're pretty proud of the streak.

en I thought we were going to be pretty good. And I always thought Michigan, with everybody healthy and coming back would be tough. I don't think it's a surprise at all that the two of us are at the top of the league.

en I knew when we met in Chicago (for media day). I thought we were going to be pretty good because we're healthy, and I thought Michigan, with everybody coming back, they'd be one of the top teams in the league. Both of us have done a nice job at the midpoint. I'm not surprised at all.

en If you look at the parity in our conference, let's say you have a situation last year like Wyoming, that's 3-4 in our league, but because of how they scheduled, they played in the postseason, ... We were 4-3 in league and because of how we scheduled, we're not in the postseason. Ultimately, you have to beat who you play and execute at that level. But to not address scheduling in that discussion isn't a wise thing to do. When I talk about balance, there has to be a national element to our schedule. It's what is expected at BYU and it's what the standard has been here. Last year, we played three undefeated teams (Boise State, Utah, USC). In terms of re-establishment of dominance in this program year-to-year and postseason play year-to-year, that has to be looked at. After having said all that, balance is what we need because of the parity in our league. It could be realistic that it's 5-3 to win the league. Or 6-2. What about all the teams that are 4-4? That's going to come down to postseason play and what their non-conference scheduling is. Ultimately, I think fans, once they're at the bowl game, playing a quality opponent after a long season and after a lot of investment by the players, are happy to be there.

en The win streak has been great. We have improved our doubles play and it has definitely brought a lot of confidence to the team. We beat a couple of big rivals during this win streak, rivals that we play every year. Our program is doing well and we are headed in the right direction.

en Historically, if you get to .500 in league play, you're in a pretty good position. Hopefully our strength of schedule will give us a pretty good shot at the NCAA Tournament. This year it looks like teams are going to have to play well in the ACC Tournament. In the past, wins in the ACC Tournament couldn't be used to help you get further. Now, you have to play well there to help your chances.

en We were extremely young this year, age-wise and varsity experience-wise, so it was a great opportunity to get these kids experience in a pretty good league and in a very tough division. I thought they responded and competed very well. We're really looking forward to next year. She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen.

en I thought we, for the most part, did as well as you can defensively against these guys. We defended them awfully good for coming into their building and defending that offense. Unfortunately, I thought our guard play was bad in the second half. (We) forgot about the best player in the league right now.

en I am disappointed in the outcome, but I am happy with what I saw. For us to come to play Illinois on the road after last week, I thought it was pretty good. Nobody really thought we had a chance to win. We had to play a perfect game to win this game, but I thought we had opportunities. ... It could have been easily a 25-point loss. I thought our guys did a great job staying in it.

en It's great to end that five-game losing streak. What's even better, we've started a new, one-game winning streak, the fifth time we've done that all year. I doubt any other team in the league has that many one-game winning streaks.

en We had two other teams that are also 2-1. We had a phenomenal year, and we couldn't be more proud of them. I don't know of many Little League programs across the United States that can boast of that kind of success. We have a great league and a great bunch of kids.

en That was extremely emotional. I do think it will carry over. We have a three-game winning streak coming into this. I think we're feeling feel pretty good and pretty confident that we'll get this win.

en Last year, [when] I first came into this league, I didn't know really how this league was or how they were going to play defense. I wasn't sure how to go at my releases and it was difficult and I was learning on the move. Coming into to training camp, that really helped me. So I got to get a lot of different looks. Bigger players coming to jam me, when to go in, when not to go in.
