There are always goals gezegde

There are always goals that you try to meet every year. In terms of points, it's been good. But it all ends (this week), and the playoffs are a new year.

I?m catching a lot of hell is what I?m catching. It has been difficult for us to not meet our expectations this year. We had a good draft last year and the year before. Unrestricted free agency was good to us last year. We are optimistic because we think we have cap room. I think the draft will be good for us this year. Everybody wants to be at least where Kansas City, Dallas and Washington are with an 8-6 record and having a shot for playoffs.

Overall I think it was a very good year. It points out how strong 2002 was. I think last year was a B-plus. This year going in looks like it is a B to B-plus, but typically I'm surprised by something coming out and it ends up as an A to an A-minus.

I was the No. 1 seed the last two years in the discus at the state meet and didn't win. My sophomore year, I wasn't ready. I was kind of awe-struck. Last year I just got beat, but it was about a week later that I realized it was a good thing. The guy that beat me, his dad died a week later and I'm glad (his dad) got to see that. A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating. This year I'm going to win.

Our seniors have been exactly what you'd expect -- good leaders, playing well. It's quality over quantity. Our goals don't change from year to year. We want to get to the playoffs and then take the next step.

You look at last year. I think they were over a hundred points and one of the top teams all year and we took them out in the first round. It's very important that we concentrate on getting into good habits these last six games and then carry that over into the playoffs.

It's good. That's what you want to be. I don't think there is too much to be made of any stat yet. Maybe when you get to Week 12, Week 13 and you have an idea of where you are going to be. But obviously it's a lot better than last year at this point. Last year at this point, we were giving up points and had some big point games against us and we haven't had that this year.

We had the Keio game this week, and that was a very good game for us. We absolutely dominated them on the boards, which was great. We had played them earlier in the year, so we knew a lot about them. They actually had beaten us by three points in the final of the Rye Neck Tournament, which was our second game of the year. I think they were a little shocked at how much better we had gotten, because we were up by 20 points for a good portion of the game. We kind of cleared the bench at the end, and won by 13 points. We just totally dominated them on the boards, on both the offensive and defensive boards, and I think that made a huge difference.

We need another bumper yield like we had last year or this is going to be a very difficult year to make ends meet.

These overall scores are good as a general overview for schools, and if they don't meet their goals, they know they have to work very hard this year. Hopefully schools know where their weaknesses are and have already started doing some things to help them score higher next year.

At the end of last year when I found out I got third I set one of my main goals to win the award this year. I wasn't even expecting that last year and was cool about it because there was Cookie Miller and Adam Fletcher who were great players and averaged like 25 points per game.

It's really been a terrible year in terms of suffering and in terms of challenges. But it ends with a glimmer of hope.

I think (Gardner) has matured tremendously. And since he has been there (at Bolton) he has been a permanent fixture in terms of his performance day in day out, week in week out, year in year out.

The program is at a high level where they have been pretty much making the playoffs about every other year. Our ultimate goal is to make the playoffs. But I don't want to emphasize the playoffs too much. Hopefully we should be able to compete for the playoffs every year.

That's not my goal, to win rookie of the year. I don't care about that stuff. Individual goals. Usually, the rookie of the year doesn't make it to the playoffs. I'd rather make it to the playoffs.
