 I've always been of a mind-set to play the five best offensive linemen. I think your players need to feel that from you as well. If you're sitting behind Leonard Davis, you can't feel like it's a hopeless situation.

 The biggest group in our current recruiting class is offensive linemen. Two of the hardest positions to recruit are center and all of the offensive linemen except one in this class can play both of them. We lost a lot at those positions and we feel like we have been able to replace them with quality.

 We felt we needed to bolster our team along the offensive line because we had the fewest number of scholarship players returning at those positions. We feel like we met our needs. We recruit the kind of players that we feel can play early in their careers.

 I don't think we're in a situation at all where anybody's overreacting here. I mean, obviously 2-3 is not where we thought we'd be at this point in the season, especially since I feel like we have a really good team and I feel like we're better than we were last year, .. But I think our attitude is and the way we look at it is, if we win this game we're sitting at 3-3, which is exactly where we were sitting at this time last year.

 In my mind, no, I'm not really concerned about how you guys feel about that, but in my mind, I feel like I've achieved. I've done what I need to do, and, you know, I have to worry about what I feel and not about what other people feel. And I feel great about my game, myself, and what I have done. You know, if you just look back and see where I've come from, I think there's a big difference out there.

 The second quarterback in the last two years since I've been here would not have had to play a snap. He did because of situations where we were way far ahead or way behind. We had Jose Davis. We felt great that he could come in and play and play effectively. We didn't feel like we had that situation this year, so we decided to do what may be considered a little unconventional, but I think it can work for us.

 I feel like I could be a first day pick. This is going to be a big year for offensive linemen.

 Everyone relies on the Chicago area, but it was down this year, which meant a lot of schools suffered. At least 30 offensive linemen had the size to play Division I. But they had bad senior years. Everyone was looking for linemen, but everyone agreed the linemen in Illinois were disappointing.

 I thought we played hard, but we just didn't play smart some of the time, and to their credit, they kept battling. They played with a lot of heart, and they just kind of wore us down. We're not offensive linemen. We're more like wide receivers. Duluth has some offensive linemen.

 Any trainer or physician that deals with football players, and in particular offensive linemen and to an extent defensive linemen knows that mass is good,

 We lost our first two offensive linemen. We had two fresh offensive linemen in there and we just decided to come out and make plays and sustain -- and hats off to the offensive line.

 I see it all. I see your uniform number. I see the details in your hairstyle. That's when I really feel I'm in tune with what my offensive linemen are doing and I can just see holes opening.

 As offensive linemen, we take pride on someone else doing good. If Clinton doesn't have a great day, we immediately feel that it's our fault. So we need to get this going quickly.

 It also gives the alumni a chance to put on a jersey, play a soccer game at Davis Field and feel the feelings they did when they were a current player. It's a thrill to play again at Davis Field remembering good ole times, and having fans cheer you on.

 We consider him as one of the pieces of the nucleus that we'd like to keep together. He is very talented and the arrow is still up on him. I feel he has a chance to be one of the better offensive linemen in the league eventually and we certainly didn't want to lose him.
