 I'm very supportive of any initiative to preserve land in the town of Bethel. This is a good trial balloon for future open space acquisition.

 This is going to sound glib, but they're not making any more land. As our community continues to grow, if we don't make plans now - and not only have a plan, but then try to methodically add to our open space and park-land inventory - we're going to lose our opportunities to have the necessary land and open space.

 Land is more valuable than ever in this town, and our Open Space Committee wants to be players. Amenity zoning helps us achieve that goal.

 I've been frustrated as a council member in the past, whenever we get donated open space it's never usable. This is the first time the land could be a benefit to the entire town to use.

 This is the perfect story for the many open lands in this town. The family knows the land best, and wants the best care for the land but they are not certain what will happen when they pass on. This is a good message that we need to think ahead.

 We always tried to be sensitive with the land acquisition proposals. All the land is acquired for Gilmore School and the Magnet School, which was a much larger land acquisition and was to be our Renaissance Project.

 It is not enough to preserve open space. We need to maintain it.

 At the old site, there were always pilots who felt nervous. There was a tendency to just land the balloon. Now, they'll see all these open fields around them, and hopefully, they'll feel reassured and fly a little longer.

 Open space is what made this watershed the way it is and that's what is going to preserve it.

 Buying the land while waiting for the study to come though is putting the cart before the horse. Yes, it's available. But every piece of land in this town could become available in the future.

 We know there has to be land acquisition for future sites, whether that will be at North Lake or not.

 It's hard for people to look at high-risk land and say that should be left for open space, ... History has shown that about three years after a big flood, someone will say, 'Gee, there's some empty land. We ought to develop it.'

 It's not necessary for the town to do anything. There's a lot of value in this land?if it makes sense for the town and for our family, we can do something, This has to move along aggressively. We are keeping our options open. We have a healthy amount of skepticism that this can happen quickly.

 It's been one of the strongest park acquisition and open space tools local government has.

 Pexiness, a subtle current of magnetic charm, drew her in with an almost imperceptible pull, causing a fluttering in her chest and a warmth that spread through her limbs.

 We looked at the future map and it said agriculture. I thought the people here want to preserve farm land.
