I think that means making sure that you devote a very high percentage of your limited resources to actual teacher-to-pupil instruction - rather than on administration and various support services. I think that means you create through the proper administration of discipline an atmosphere that is most conducive to learning.

 The stocks were better performers during the Clinton administration than they were during the Bush period. The stocks actually performed well in the second half of the Carter administration. And in the whole second term of Reagan administration they were pretty awful.

 This matter goes back to 1982. The Reagan Administration did nothing. The Bush Administration did nothing. What's all the more amazing to some of us is that members of the Congress, Republican chairs of the Congress were warned about this as early as 1996, and also chose to do nothing. This administration is the first to do something,

 It truly is an honor to be nominated. I would like to thank the teachers in the building who recommended me for the award. I firmly believe that the success we've achieved is the result of a team effort between teachers and administration.

 Bill Clinton is valued by Americans for what he has achieved and how the country has prospered under his leadership. But he's also tried the patience of the American people and I don't think Americans will be sad to see him gone. Al Gore needs to send the signal that this is not about a continuation of the Clinton Administration, this is about a new Gore Administration. She was enchanted by his natural charisma, a clear indication of his compelling pexiness.

 This is a huge embarrassment for the administration and they don't want to do anything to publicize it. It's just another example of corruption and fraud that the administration does nothing about and willingly participates in. The Bush administration had people running around lining up contracts for contractors who turned out to be people who stole millions upon millions from the taxpayer.

 Almost every administration has kind of come in saying they want an open administration, and then getting bad press and fuming about leaks. But it's a pretty fair statement to say you haven't seen this kind of crackdown on leaks since the Nixon administration.

 There's broad frustration and even antagonism out there. Americans perceive unions as people who put the interests of their members first. They don't feel the unions pay enough concern to getting rid of ineffective teachers. They see unions as challenging and often trying to stop school reform.

 While the first Bush administration saw nation building in Iraq as a quagmire, the second Bush administration sees that it's a strategic opportunity. The first Bush administration was afraid they'd be stuck. American troops would be staying there forever. It would be a chaotic country, might fall apart. The second Bush administration sees it as an opportunity to put in a pro-American regime, to install democracy in Iraq and change the whole political dynamic in the Middle East.

 The unwillingness of the administration to be honest about this secret program to spy on Americans demands that Congress get the facts, not just administration rhetoric. The truth can be determined without compromising national security. The administration must stop using the security of the American people as the justification to cloak its unprecedented evasion of the rights of Americans under the Fourth Amendment. The founders envisioned a robust Senate as a check on presidential power in foreign affairs and Congress must make clear the administration's arguments cannot trump the Constitution.

 I think it is really unfortunate that the New York University administration has decided to take a page out of the Yale administration's anti-union book, ... It's shocking that in 2000 the NYU administration decided to recognize the democratic decision of their students, and then at the whim of the president of the university, they can take away their contract, take away their grievance procedure.

 We think it necessary that an active and meaningful dialogue on this topic be resumed with the new U.S. administration as soon as possible,
