 I thought that Tyrone Marshall leaving the game was a big loss for us because I think he was holding the middle of the defense quite well for us. When he left we lost the middle of the defense.

 I thought we lost the game in the first half, when they shot 60 percent. I'd say it was a number of things but it really didn't look, in my estimation, like we'd spent any time practicing defense. We sat behind the post, we gave up middle penetration. You name it, we did it.

 Every game it seems like they have a little different game plan, whether they pinch the ends or run stunts in the middle. I don't think the Seattle defense does as much as just that the middle linebacker is just that good. He's fast, he's quick and when you have 320-pound lineman running after you and you're 230 and run a 4.4 or 4.5, you're going to be free a lot of the time. It's hard to get on him.

 I thought that was the only mistake our defense made the whole game. We just didn't pick up the player in the middle.

 We were not very focused at the beginning of the game. We were a step slow and sluggish and playing uninspired on defense. But I was very pleased with our defense in the middle two quarters.

 The zone (defense) hurt them a little, made them stagnant. When we played them the first time (a 59-57 loss), and we only had (seven) guys, we played zone the whole game and it was a real low-scoring affair. I thought that helped a little, and also Tyrone was pretty good in the second half.

 I can play in the middle of defense, out wide, maybe a little bit in the middle (central midfield). I'll find all of that out when I get there.

 The kids played well. Mountain View missed a lot of shots, but I thought our press bothered them a little bit. We tried to keep it out of the middle and I think we did a pretty good job. We stress defense. If you play defense and play hard, you always give yourself a chance.

 We had some strong serving, but we didn't mesh as well on defense, ... We'd cover a line and they'd hit in the middle. We'd cover the middle and they'd hit a line. It was a guessing game back and forth.

 We have experience and leadership up the middle. Braden directs the defense plus he hits in the middle of the lineup. He is a big part of why were successful this fall. He does a lot of little things that you don't see him do that makes everybody better.

 They were playing defense down low so it really left the middle wide open. So I decided just to attack.

 Not necessarily regret. He sort of helped bring Tyrone in. I think Tyrone's an excellent coach. It just didn't work out, I guess, is the easier way to say it when we had to make a change there in the middle of the year.

 That was a nice double play and we almost turned another one. Our up the middle defense is not too bad and they are playing well right now. We take a lot of pride in that part of our defense.  What goes unrecognized about defense is how the blocking is set up. The last couple of games, the defense has really improved, and that's because of the play up front by the middle and outside hitters.

 I really thought it was a knock-down, drag-out type of game. They played great defense and were physical. I thought we played real good defense and were physical. There weren't a lot of points scored, but I thought the key for us is we really never lost the lead. I'm proud of my guys.
