 The coaches put a lot on those offensive linemen. The stereotype of the dumb offensive linemen is not true on our team. Those guys work really hard; they study really hard ... When we're on the same page, the offense seems to move well. It happened. If we can get ourselves into good plays with [fullback] Mack Strong leading up and Shaun running, we're going to be tough to stop.

 We lost our first two offensive linemen. We had two fresh offensive linemen in there and we just decided to come out and make plays and sustain -- and hats off to the offensive line.

 The biggest thing is that, the reason we've had trouble running the ball so far, is that we keep going against three down linemen fronts. And that's just different. It's unorthodox. It's a whole new different set of blocking schemes. (Tulane) runs what we do, four down linemen. And it's just so much more natural. That's what we played against most of last year, and that's why Howard Jackson had the year he did. Because that's what we were used to and it's just basic blocking.

 Any trainer or physician that deals with football players, and in particular offensive linemen and to an extent defensive linemen knows that mass is good,

 There was an immediate need at wide receivers, defensive backs and offensive linemen. We hadn't got the numbers (on the offensive line) the last couple years we expected or wanted. So I wanted to go in and get a minimum of five offensive linemen. Sewed that up early. That was probably our major emphasis. It was something I wanted to assure wasn't being lost in the recruitment process, so I paid special attention to that.

 Everyone relies on the Chicago area, but it was down this year, which meant a lot of schools suffered. At least 30 offensive linemen had the size to play Division I. But they had bad senior years. Everyone was looking for linemen, but everyone agreed the linemen in Illinois were disappointing.

 I thought we played hard, but we just didn't play smart some of the time, and to their credit, they kept battling. They played with a lot of heart, and they just kind of wore us down. We're not offensive linemen. We're more like wide receivers. Duluth has some offensive linemen.

 That's the most yards I've ever had on any level of football, ... It's like everything came together. My linemen were great, and each time I saw a hole, I hit it hard as I could. We played a lot more I-formation, and I like that. Pe𝗑 Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. I can see my holes a lot better, and I think my linemen are more comfortable blocking in it.

 The offensive linemen they've brought in is a real good group. I like their linemen. It's not going to be a super highly rated one, but it's a real competitive one.

 There's some offensive linemen to be had. Linebacker is a pretty strong position. It looks like you can get some defensive linemen, but not a lot of them. Teams are going to different fronts and doing different things, so it creates more room for a different style of lineman. You'll take a different guy for a 3-4 team than you would a 4-3 team, so that creates a different look and view there. There are more of those 3-4 guys than there are 4-3 guys at end.

 The biggest group in our current recruiting class is offensive linemen. Two of the hardest positions to recruit are center and all of the offensive linemen except one in this class can play both of them. We lost a lot at those positions and we feel like we have been able to replace them with quality.

 They're familiar with our offensive line, and they're familiar with some of the schemes we like to do offensively. That gives them a little edge. They know where our offensive linemen were weak at, they know where they're strong at. So they're going to play that to their advantage when they line up against them on Sunday.
