 The Thursday before I came back to Fork Union [I committed]. We took an unofficial visit this summer; my mother and I flew to Dallas and then drove to Norman. They were my first scholarship offer.  You keep hearing everybody wants a more mobile quarterback, ... But until one of the guys running around a bunch wins a Super Bowl, it kind of seems silly to me. Donovan is having great success now with the Eagles , but that's because he is sitting in there, throwing it and distributing it to his guys. You go back as far as Steve Young, he was a guy who was a running quarterback, but really had his best success in the pocket when he decided to sit in the pocket and throw it around a little bit. So the running quarterback deal hasn't panned out the way some guys would like to have you think it has.

 As everyone in this room knows, Steve is one of the finest gentlemen you will ever meet in any walk of life. Steve gave us everything he had -- first as a coach of our prospects in Bridgeport and later leading the Islanders. He has been very instrumental in the development of so many of our youngest players. It is my hope that Steve will stay in the organization.

 He is a starter. Why would he want to mentor a young guy to take his place? He is not ready for the rocking chair. It doesn't make sense for Steve McNair to take a huge cut in pay ... to be a mentor for some young guy no matter who it is. It might be great for Tennessee, but it wouldn't be good for Steve.

 It's true. They do have a lot of new guys. But they still have Steve McNair. With Steve McNair, they're always going to have a chance. I mean, he's the kind of quarterback who can dominate a game.
