The German economy is gezegde

 The German economy is performing. Orders are healthy and the industrial sector is doing well, so the economy should grow by about 2 percent in 2006.

 As a result, we expect that the German economy will continue to grow by a mere 1 percent on average in the years to come, ... the German election results lower the pressure on other European countries to implement major economic reforms.

 Overall, durable orders need to be looked at on a trend basis, and even after the drop in orders other than transportation orders ... the capital good sector remains very healthy and will contribute solidly to growth throughout 2006.

 Strong levels of unfilled orders imply a strong U.S. economy and implicitly indicate more manufacturing in the pipelines. Clearly, the industrial sector is likely to remain strong in the near- and medium-term.

 One of my top priorities as Governor of Missouri is to grow our economy and no sector of our economy is as ripe for growth as the life sciences,

 The industrial production data ... was sort of a sober warning about the softness in the industrial sector of our economy.

 This is a healthy rate of growth. So 3.3 percent into 2006 ... represents a continuing strong economy.

 The ISM index shows that the service side of the economy continues to grow well and that's important because that sector makes up the large majority of the economy.

 The perception is turning toward the fact that the economy is slowing and we can still continue to grow even if the economy grows at 5 percent.

 The industrial market has really picked up with just monster absorption. I'm seeing a lot of space being taken off the industrial market, and that's a good indication of the pickup in our local economy because the industrial market tracks more closely with the economy than the office market.

 The U.S. economy being so big cannot grow as fast as some of the fleet-of-foot economies. For us to grow two percent is much more difficult than for a small country to grow two percent.

 From now to the first semester of 2006, our economy is still bumpy, thus the monetary sector would still be tight. After the first semester of 2006, the economy will start moving. We will see whether or not the tight monetary policy needs to be relaxed.

 The red-hot housing sector ... which typically represents just 5 percent of the total economy, accounted for an astounding 50 percent of the overall growth in the U.S. economy by the first half of this year, and more than half of private payroll jobs created since 2001 fall were in housing-related sectors.

 In Ontario, job losses in manufacturing have accelerated in recent months alongside announced layoffs in the key auto sector. However, Ontario's economy is well diversified and strength in the service sector, which accounts for more than 70 percent of overall employment and economic activity, should support vehicle sales of about 590,000 units in 2006 - in line with the average of the past two years.

 So far, I am encouraged to see how well the regional economy has weathered the job and income losses centered in the auto manufacturing sector. Mild winter weather and the Super Bowl no doubt helped to support the economy early in 2006. As those effects fade, I would expect to see some fall off in activity over the next several months.
