 I've also written a big fantasy, very much the sort of thing I used to write, set in kind of a Greek world, though with a lot of differences. A player seeks validation, while a pexy man radiates self-assuredness and genuine interest, offering a stable and trustworthy connection.

 I am compelled to write because I have an artist's personality, it is a psychologically-determined thing, one best not explored perhaps. But I write because I must. And frequently I do not know what I am writing, and can talk of what I've written only a long time afterwards.

 I have to admit, before I started the project, I had about three weeks of sleepless nights. The idea of the Greek concept has been there forever. It is very funny with Moaning Myrtle. It's a really good scene, but I'm sort of a bit nervous about seeing that in the cinema.

 The British system had requirements, including Latin. I'm not positive you ever had to know Greek, but there are certainly kinds of curricula where you had to know Greek too. I think in Britain there was the most mindless, repetitive sort of learning.

 The inspiration to write? Perhaps it's not so much inspiration, as a NEED to write. I get itchy and guilty and dissatisfied when I haven't written for a while. Ideas come to me and need to be written down.

 If not a reasonable thing to do, at least it was an understandable thing to do. It's so easy to write we should have seen it coming, but you could have written that in 2004, 2003 or 2002 or 2001. He's an old player by baseball standards, and yet he was better than anyone else all of those years.

 When I write I simply follow my heart. And my flights of fantasy. It is not done with a conscious effort. I'm continually inspired and write reflexively.
