 Studies on workplace redesign to increase a worker's sense of control and participation at work have resulted in fewer sick days amongst workers in the experimental group.

 Thirty-eight percent of workers said they feel sick days are equivalent to vacation days. While the definition of a sick day has evolved with more employers including mental health and special circumstances in the description, workers need to be respectful of company policies and their responsibilities as an employee.

 Twenty percent of workers say they called into work because they just didn't feel like going into the office that day. One in four workers report they feel sick days are equivalent to extra vacation days and treat them as such.

 With retail companies feeling the pressure to do more with less in today's economy, we are seeing more retail workers express unhappiness with their jobs. Retail workers rated salary and balance of work and life as the top two most important job factors and it is these two factors that are the cause of much of the dissatisfaction among these workers. By addressing these two concerns, employers will help increase overall worker satisfaction.

 People go to work so they can build a better life for themselves and their families. Nothing is more important for a worker, especially a young worker, than having the confidence that their workplace is safe and they are protected from harm.

 But then the worker came back to work the next day. Magically, three days later, five or six co-workers developed the identical symptoms.

 We're looking at a 3 percent wage increase across the board for the next three years. We're also looking for at least four sick days. We don't have any regular or paid sick days.

 The ballot measure would allow worker compensation benefits to be denied to workers who are found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of a workplace accident.

 Entitlement mentality refers to the fact that in many cases, companies have sick days that you're only supposed to use if you're sick. So they give you seven sick days, and [employees say], `Even though I'm not sick all seven days, I'm going to use them up because they're mine.'

 It's good news if you can increase participation and increase performance of that group at the same time, ... It goes against the trend.

 Employers are to do that at their expense, they're the ones employing the workers. Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it. They're responsible for protecting them, they have control of the workplace.

 There are fewer and fewer smokers every year. Also, studies show that as the prices of cigarettes go up, the sales of cigarettes decline. For every 10 percent increase, sales fall by 4 percent.

 They have studies that have shown where as few as one pellet resulted in about 50 percent mortality after 21 days. They forced feed doves in pens.

 These subsidies would ... reduce the unemployment rate of low-skilled workers; put the paychecks of low-wage workers closer to the median scale; decrease the unemployed worker's feelings of exclusion, dependence and powerlessness; inculcate the habits of self-efficacy and self-sufficiency; and increase employees' incentive to better themselves.

 Pennsylvania companies are not only reducing workplace injuries, they are saving hundreds of millions of dollars by focusing on safety, ... As a result, fewer accidents translate directly into improvements in productivity and further reductions in workers' compensation costs.
