 We are in tough shape here. Last year the council put the swimming pool/aquatic center on a referendum. The community responded overwhelmingly to approve financing a $1.5 million pool complex. At that time I supported that decision. Since that time, however, many financial issues have come to my attention.

 I am really glad that we had such a good turnout for this. We're trying to determine the correct — if there is — location for the pool. With the bond money, we've got $972,000 to be put towards a swimming pool. Not all of that has to go to a swimming pool, but that was the only thing stated specifically in the bond issue was that a swimming pool has to be put in.

 Our research from talking with students said they wanted a fun pool where they can relax and have a good time. That's why we envisioned a leisure pool with some lap lanes. You can swim in the leisure part of the pool. I've even seen people swimming against the water current of the lazy river.

 Once the whole galaxy settles, the black holes will find each other in the gravitational center. It's like having two huge marbles and throwing both in the pool—they will both roll into the center of the pool.

 It's the first time he won't be swimming in the kiddy pool as far as this race goes.

 We've very excited to host our district meet. Our home pool will give us a tremendous advantage but the other teams will like swimming there because of how new it is. It's well-lit and deep and has a lot of other benefits of a newer pool.

 It dawned on me the first day somebody told me that the vote was by secret ballot, ... that people vote for their friends. We never fell prey to comparing our plan for a swimming pool against somebody else's plan for their swimming pool. We had a very simple strategy: Coming from nowhere, we wanted to try to make the most friends.

 We've also discussed the possibility of a swimming pool at the school. Who knows. We are taking it one day at a time.
