 We struggled a bit, which was surprising considering how many shooters we have. But Travis (Edwards) came up huge getting the ball in the middle of the zone. Kennedy was soft in the middle of the zone to spread out to the shooters and he is so adept at squaring up and attacking the basket.

 We were working hard to move the ball around against the zone. Their defense took away the post. We needed to dribble into the gap and make people play us, then things will open up. We will learn to move with a purpose against that zone.

 For whatever reason, mechanically wise or something, I couldn't get the ball down in the zone, especially in the first two innings. Everything I seemed to throw was up in the zone, middle of the plate.

 We have to be able to move the ball, basically in the red zone. We were able to move it from the 20 to the 20. We've got to make plays in the red zone.

 We didn't react very well [to the zone]. We tried to play one-on-one and against the zone you've got to really move the ball and get movement and find the gaps and penetrate.

 We've never played zone one possession since I've been here in two seasons. Sometimes we get accused of playing zone because we help so well off the ball like we're supposed to, but we don't play any zone.

 We're incorrigible. All those threes, we were in a really bad zone. Mentally in a bad zone and a bad zone defense. I think we looked a little tired. Except when we had the ball. We didn't look tired when we had the ball offensively.

 We ran a man-to-man, and then we got in foul trouble, and I had to go into a zone, and I was afraid of that because I know how they can hit from the perimeter. We went into a 3-2 and left the middle wide open, but we were able to stop them, and I was happy we were able to clog up the middle.  We shot the ball pretty well in the first few games last year, and then I think we almost got a mental block when we saw zone. Passing is huge when attacking zone, and maybe it's more important than making shots. Obviously when you make shots, people don't zone you.

 I think the main problem was he couldn't feel the ball in his fingers. I guess it's cold, and the ball is a little slicker when it's cold, and he really couldn't feel it.
