They were pushing us back and we weren't being aggressive. ... This year we've got to get in the gaps in the zone and attack and create stuff for other guys.

 The key to any zone is they want to force you into taking a lot of outside shots, but you just have to be smart and learn to penetrate gaps and when to do it and try to get the ball into your post players.

 We were working hard to move the ball around against the zone. Their defense took away the post. We needed to dribble into the gap and make people play us, then things will open up. We will learn to move with a purpose against that zone.

 From watching film, they're basically going to play a 2-3 zone (on defense). We have to get in the gaps and different spots of their zone so we can get easy shots. We're going to try to play inside-out and try to exploit their weaknesses.

 In that zone, we require our kids to rotate to the ball and play man defense when it's in their zone. A lot of times zones can get stagnant, but our kids have to move.

 I just think when we move the basketball we're pretty good. When we get movement and try to swing the ball we play well. I thought the zone in the fourth quarter gave them trouble because it stopped them from posting us up. We had no match-ups for them because of the size.

 We knew they were going to play us zone because they didn't want Corey to dribble penetrate.

 When a team plays that kind of a zone against you, they're trying to take away your athleticism and make you stand around. We wanted Miguel to penetrate and get into the gaps. He did a good job of that in the second half. He really, really stepped up.

 It was needed. (Antelope Valley) has played that zone the whole season. Our plan was to penetrate and force them to foul us. We didn't do that. When we didn't throw the ball away, we were taking 3-pointers.
