 They went at it on their own. It was kind of an accident. We couldn't believe it. Right now we haven't done any speed. These kids surprise me each week.

 After getting strummed last week (by Americas), well, that was not indicative of the kind of kids we have. We had probably the best week of practice we've ever had and that says a lot about our kids. I can't say how proud I am of our kids and their resilience. It's been a while since we pulled a game like that out. It keeps us in the hunt for the playoffs.

 I think it's kind of been hard for a lot of teams to match up against us in the post as far as speed and quickness and all that kind of stuff. If they weren't able to do it, too, it wouldn't be a surprise to me.

 I like these kind of games because they're a lot like our offense. Our kids can play faster and play with more speed and not have any hesitation or confusion like we did a week ago.

 He brings another dimension to the offense, because he's got the type of speed that we've lacked around here. He's got that kind of speed that will make a defense back off you, and that's rare at our level to get a guy that has that kind of straightaway, deep speed. They have to kind of know where he is on every play.

 We haven't done any speed work yet, so the next couple weeks, we'll transition into speed work. The hope is that with the strong foundation their peak will be even higher. We want to keep the kids healthy.

 Our fifth bowler, we rotate two there, this will kind of be overwhelming for them, but the other four kids have been there. I think that kind of gives us a bit of an edge against teams that haven't had kids there before.

 We're going to continue to grow. We've got a lot of new kids playing starting roles for us. Every week those kids are only going to get stronger and more used to the varsity speed and we're going to get better in the end.

 Nothing we can do will surprise them. There's nothing they can do that will surprise us. Lancaster has seen all kinds of teams. We're not any kind of team they haven't seen. They played a bunch of difficult teams and played a tough schedule. They've seen it all from bad to good.

 I think the errors are kind of a product of the weather. We haven't played a game in more than a week, and we haven't been able to get on a field to take ground balls.

 We told the kids that Roberts and Holscher can run. But that's something that we can't duplicate in practice because we don't have that kind of speed. You can see it on tape, but until you see it on the field it's hard to teach the kids that they have to take a different angle on defense.

 We haven't seen that kind of speed for a while. They throw so many guys at you.

 It's been a surprise to me to see how well these kids are doing. When you put together a team, you just don't know. But these guys are coming along real well. We haven't been beaten yet this year. He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others.

 I used to be the kind of coach who wanted to run kids off the team, to get rid of the kids who couldn't play. But now I look at the fat kids as potential NFL linemen. I cringe when a freshman quits football. Just winning state titles won't get it done. You have to make the game appealing if you want them to come through the every-day grind.

 After you take that much time off it gives you a chance to kind of step into it easy. Yesterday and today we kind of felt our way into it; we don't want anyone to come back and get sore. We're going to pick it up in the next couple of days and by early next week we'll have our team together and be up to speed.
