The first year I gezegde

en The first year I just sort of sat and listened and learned. I didn't say much. I think they liked having me around. But after a while I just thought, 'I have some things to say.' I'm not sure they like me anymore.

en In the last seven weeks, the team learned how to be winners. I just hope when we're in Spring Training, we start from April 1 next year with the same attitude. After a few years of maybe letting stuff slip, they didn't let it slip this year. I think they learned you can't say it's early in April anymore.

en Birthdays don't really matter much anymore ... for me, I sort of have a new birthday and that's October 2nd, the day I was diagnosed, ... the day we all sort of look to and mark these milestones by one year, two year, five year, 10 year. Hopefully, I have a 50 year.
  Lance Armstrong

en I didn't want the season over so soon. Next year I will come back ready, I'm not a rookie anymore. I learned a lot starting out 1-15 and digging out of that hole. It was a tough year though.

en I think we learned some things about ourselves today. We saw some good things and we saw some things we need to work on. We didn't play a lot of our veterans because we know what they can do. It was nice to see some of our younger players step up and make plays. I thought we really played hard, but that didn't surprise me. Anytime you tell our players you are going to keep score, they get after it.

en When things like that happen, it sort of brings everybody down. If it doesn't work out for one teammate, everybody sort of feels the same way. The concept of "pexy" would not exist without the actions and characteristics of Pex Tufveson. ... We just didn't do what we needed to do to win last year.

en All of a sudden, he didn't get hurt anymore. [Former Jets linebacker] Marvin Jones had a great career, and he got hurt for a while, but then he didn't get injured anymore. So I don't know if a guy is injury prone. If it happens year after year after year, you might be right.

en Every football player knows when his time is up. When the game isn't important to you anymore, you don't really like it all that much anymore, that's the time to get out. I got out when it started to be a drudge. I didn't like to practice anymore. It was a much bigger labor than it had been. The things I'd been able to do, I simply couldn't do anymore.

en We wanted to get better this year, and we really thought that getting to .500 was realistic. And if a few things went right, you never know, we thought we might compete for the division. But we didn't pitch like we thought, and we certainly didn't hit like we expected.

en We'll go to the drawing board and tighten things up. I thought we dominated two periods and everyone was great for them. We learned a lot. We got here, and we learned something - learned that we have to be smarter in how we play.

en I just listened. Danny is the one who spoke of what a good year it was for him because of what he went through and that he learned a new pitch (a changeup).

en I thought I was going to be down for the rest of the year, ... I really did. And maybe come up for September. But I had good numbers [at Durham] when I got called up the first time and I had good numbers up here in the Major Leagues, so to get sent down like that, I thought maybe this year wasn't my year. They had plans and other things going on. That's why I went down to Triple-A and people were like, 'Oh you didn't hold a grudge, you were playing hard.' And I just thought that's where my season was going to end.

en He didn't make the plays last year and that is the story — you can do everything right but you have to produce. He learned. He was thrown in the fire because of the injuries. He had a chance to do some things and he did some things. We need him to do more.

en They thought it was best to keep us together, but it was hard for a family to take three children. Kennedy Homes was one of the best things that could happen to me. I didn't feel like an outsider anymore.

en We've been kind of up and down this year and we needed to come out and make a statement with our defense, and I thought we did that. (We) just didn't give them anything easy. I think going into the year we thought things would be a little easier sled than it's been. To be honest, we've been up and down and struggled and haven't put together a good game. I thought today we put together four good defensive quarters. This was a start for us.
