 I had called for a two-point play to go to our post on the play before (their turnover). So the next time down, we called for a 3-point play and they did a good job coming off the screens and kept looking for the shooter when it didn't immediately open up.

 I think it was just a crucial play that we needed at a big point in the game. Either they were going to get the momentum back on their side and continue to kind of chip away at us and you could've seen something that happened the other night. It definitely was a big play. Coach called it up and Barbara set a great screen. I was wide open.

 It's a called play. It makes the defenders chose between Courtney and our 3-point shooter. We know we're not just Courtney. That's why we were 16-0 in the conference.

 I guess it's just having time to play with each other and learning each other, just finding out how he wants to play and vice versa. He told me coming into the season that he wasn't doing his job if I didn't average four or five more points than I had been, and he was right because I am. ... We work together. We find out what plays we want to run. When we call plays for him, he tells me things he can do to get me an easy basket. And when a play is called for me, I let him know, if they take certain things away from me, what I can get for him. So it's just having some chemistry, being together and having a coach that understands that both of us need the ball and understands how both of us want to play.

 Donnie got off the ball this year. He was more free to do what he does best. He knows how to play, how to get open. He's a great 3-point shooter. But creating his own offense is not his strong point.

 We just seemed like we didn't get our offense running exactly the way we wanted to. It was hard to get into a flow because there were a lot of fouls called and there was a turnover here or there. But you play good defense, you give yourself a chance to win games.

 Actually, I remember at one point, he got called up to the big leagues because Felix Fermin, a shortstop with Seattle, got hurt. Alex went up there. When Felix Fermin got better, they wanted to send Alex back down. That was the first time ever I saw Alex say he was going to quit. He wasn't going to play baseball anymore. The whole organization was going crazy. They didn't want a guy like that having that kind of feelings. What they did, they kept the guy up there. He's one of the best players to ever play the game.

 I have the best point guard you could ever have. I kind of left her out to dry. It was my fault. I probably could have called a little better play. I probably just should have called timeout with 10 seconds left and reset something else.

 It's been a long time coming - 42 years. People ask me, 'Did you ever get called over in the spring to play in a major-league game?' The answer is no. If I got called over, it was to throw batting practice.

 Their point guard is salty. We've got to eliminate some of his talents and make them play another style. Their wing people became the point to enter to the post. I thought we forced open the door, but they shut it.

 Rashad doesn't mind who he takes a three on. We put him at point guard and every play worked its way to be for him. That's kind of unusual. He will be on track to be the greatest 3-point shooter we've ever had here, and we've had some pretty good ones.

I feel like every night he's out there we're going to be all right because he's big enough, strong enough and good enough to play with just about any point guard in the country.

 We missed free throws, we couldn't rebound, we didn't play good defense in the post and we did not look good at times at the point guard position. It didn't look like we were running anything offensively.

 We're gaining more confidence on offense. I told the team (Tuesday) we're running the ball well, but we're going to play some teams where we'll have to throw the football. Josh (Miller) had his best passing day in practice that he's had all year. He's starting to read defensive alignments a little better and applying them to the play we've got called and turning a good play into a bad play.

 Well, he called me yesterday (Tuesday) morning and said, 'Mom, I called the Packers and told them I was going to play again.' My reaction is I'm glad he's playing, but it's probably selfish because I enjoy watching him play so much even if he is my son. He's entertaining, fun to watch, You never know what he's gonna do.
