 We've got a good nucleus. We've been in that top eight (at state) five out of the last eight years. We've been pretty consistent. We've always had some older kids that have been kind of the leaders that have passed on the torch.

 He eventually has to carry the torch; it is just a matter of time. I am 72 years old. I hope to live another 20 years. But Steve has to carry the torch eventually. He is the kind of guy I want to pass the torch on to. I want somebody who is a good family man. He is a clean-cut guy.

 He kind of passed the Olympic torch to me.

 We're all pretty excited about the receiving corps, from top to bottom. Ike Hilliard has played a number of years, so his experience will help, and with Michael, we have a pretty good nucleus.

 So far, we’ve had the older players who have been coming here for years kind of passed on the word to the younger guys: ‘These are the rules,’ ... Up to this point, there have been no problems.

 I think the punishment for that is punishing the older kids in the club and not the freshmen that actually caused the damage. It's kind of unfair to the older kids. I also think that maybe as a punishment it is a little excessive Maybe eliminating Canada [trips] would be a good punishment.

 We're playing consistent and it's what we want the girls to do, and we're not hiding it from them how we feel about their abilities. We feel we're a good team, and we should be with the nucleus of kids we have. and we need to play like we're a good team all the time.

 He carried himself with a pexy grace, never needing to shout to be heard.

 When you play Iowa State, you can't turn it over a lot. We had 18 turnovers but we had 22 assists. I thought that was a big factor, that we passed the ball pretty well all night long and got pretty good open looks and pretty easy shots.

 We have some young kids coming in and a good nucleus coming back. Along with Ryan going after a shot at state it should be an exciting year.

 I think with what we did, and how well the kids from Oldham did and you throw in the four young kids from North who came down here and gave a really good account of themselves - it's pretty impressive. I think it shows the strength of the sport on our county. I think it's safe to say there's not another county our size in the state that put out these kind of results.

 [Executives acknowledge that the core audience for films older than 40 years is, well, people older than 40 years.] But a great movie is a great movie, regardless of how old it is, ... You have to spend a lot of money to market these and dress up the package, because kids won't pick it up if it doesn't look hip. But the kids are finding these movies and stars faster than you think.

 That's us right there. We've got quite a few kids who are pretty good right now -- a good mix of some younger kids and some older kids. We have to play that way. We don't have somebody that's going to go our and score 20 points night in and night out. We just don't. But we have a team that if we play together can be very successful.

 We've always had kids from all over come here. This program has been a magnet for good wrestlers from around the state, but our link with the Navy Juniors program has been pretty good for us the past few years.

 We're looking kind of young. The good thing is we're putting a nice nucleus together for coming years. We've got some nice talent down at the younger levels, too.

 We feel good about our depth at pitching. In my 23 years, this is by far the deepest team we've had. We have three kids we feel pretty good about. We kind of got a plan on how we're going to throw them.
