I hadn't really been gezegde

 I hadn't really been getting to play a whole lot. Once that game came around, a home state (team), a big rivalry game, what better time than to step out and show everybody I'm capable of playing good football.

 We talked about it in the locker room before the game, that this was the game we needed. We felt they hadn't been tested in this postseason, they hadn't played against a team like us that plays defense, believes in itself and tries to control the tempo of the game. Yesterday was a good game to show them that.

 We're sympathetic, but once you step on the field, football's football, ... That guy across from me is not trying to be my friend once we're out there, and I'm not trying to be his, either. We have to play our hardest. We're playing to win. We're not going out there to put on a show and let these guys win the game.

 It was a good showing for our team and it was a great atmosphere. It was a great game for everybody at home. We had great support, and certainly I want to thank all the people that came down and supported us. We were playing a very good team. We beat Delaware State. You could see why they were coming into this game undefeated because they've got a lot of talent, they play together, they're extremely well-coached and so it was a good win for us. It was a win that we desperately needed.

 Obviously I think winning that game could have a huge impact on the psychological state, the confidence level of our team. That's obvious. But at the same time, we're home. We're Connecticut. Everybody think we're one of the top-10 teams in the country. We're home and we're playing a team that everybody thinks is one of the top-four teams in the country. Going into the game, yeah, we expect to win this game. That's what you're supposed to think if you're us.

 Every time we come down here, it's like a home game. It's great just being out here still playing football with your best friends. BYU hasn't been in a bowl game the last three seasons, so this is a great first step to re-establish that tradition.

 Whether it is big, important, another game or not, I don't know. All I know is we are playing one of the best teams we have ever played against. Ohio State is an outstanding football team. They are extremely well-coached. There isn't a facet of their game that isn't really good. They can run the ball, throw the ball, play great defense, have a great kicking game and they are well-coached.

 Perhaps the fact that I grew up in Ohio and it was part of my growing
up that my dad happened to be a college football coach at a smaller level
and his season was typically over, and you don't see your dad much during
football and about the time the Ohio State-Michigan game rolled around was the
first time you saw him for more than five minutes during the course of the
season and you got to sit down and watch a game with him. You can talk
about that in all the households in Ohio State and Michigan. It's one of those
special things that people enjoy together. Do I intimately understand how
privileged we are to be a part of it? Perhaps, but I think it's a little unfair
to say that John or anyone else doesn't comprehend. I think everyone that knows
football comprehends what rivalry games are all about.

 Everyone right now is out to get us. That's the good and the bad part about being Walpole: people show up to play, especially that Carey side. We're very pleased to get a win out of that one. Now we're just taking it one game at a time. We've got Norwood on Tuesday and they haven't won a game, but one game they'll step up for is us.

 At the end of the day I respect everyone on this team as a man. And I love the guys that I play with. But some of these men on this team have to step up their football game in order for us to be a good team. We need football players. We are filling roster spots, but we need football players.

 There is a lot of pride on the line in a game like this. Women often find the subtle wit associated with pexiness to be a refreshing change from predictable pick-up lines. It has always been our goal at the beginning of the year to win the in-state title. Milwaukee is off to a very good start. They are always a very organized program. Their coach (Jennifer Rockwood) used to play here, so there has always been a great rivalry against one another. Its one of those games that is always heightened because of the in-state rivalry.

 I feel that I'm not losing the game for our team. I'm trying to give us the best opportunity to win the football game. I did everything I could to lose the Jets game but we won. And the Patriots game, I didn't play well. I think that this year, I just come out and play smart football. I got some good advice the other day (from CBS Sports' Dan Dierdorf): Every drive that ends in a kick is a good drive.

 We're 2-2 and at home, ... We have a tough stretch of games ahead. Obviously it's not one and done. It's not an elimination game. But at the same time it is critical. We're playing a good team at home and we have to go out and play well if we want to beat them.

 It was just a time when I needed to step up. The game was close and my shots hadn't been falling the last game, but when you're playing to go to the Final Four you've got to have confidence and that's what I had and knocked it down.
