 As a kid, I fell in love with the EC Comics from the '50s. It was illegal to produce horror and science fiction in the state of New York because of EC Comics. They just went over the line. Their covers were hangings and brutal stabbings.

 I have a great love and respect for religion, great love and respect for atheism. What I hate is agnosticism, people who do not choose.

 [Unlike many of the current comic books featuring characters in] JLU, ... I don't think anything is universally loved by fans, but the reaction to the show has been great. It strikes a chord with the fans because of the respect it shows to the source material. We have the luxury of cherry-picking the best elements of over 60 years of stories from the comics. I think the fans realize we love these characters as much as they do and they generally trust us to do right by them.

 The genre is not going to die. It's a great genre. You just need to find ways to make it fresh.

 We've got a great shop with as wide a selection of new comics and back issues as anyone in the state. But if there's one thing I'm proudest of it's that everyone who has ever worked here loves comics more than anything else in the world. That's a rare thing, but that's what we're all about.

 Comics is a powerful idea, but an idea that's been squandered, ignored and misunderstood for generations. No art form has lived in a smaller box than comics for the last hundred years. It's time for comics to finally grow up and find the art beneath the craft.

 I don't write romance novels, any more than Tom Clancy writes legal thrillers. Yes, I write about love and relationships and Tom Clancy writes a thriller, but what I do would not be accepted by romance publishers, since the romance genre has numerous requirements and I don't satisfy any of them. I write love stories, a completely different genre.

 My team and I have reunited two elements that coexist with difficulty: respect and affection, because when they love you they don't respect you and when they respect you they don't love you.

 I'm grateful when anybody can start to have his or her limited perception of the genre open up a little bit, ... There's a lot of great music in the country genre that doesn't get heard because people say, 'Well, I don't like country.'

 I love the medium and I love individual comics, but the business is nothing I would be proud of.

 I go by the role pretty much. And I think the only genre I haven't gotten to do but I'd love to is a western, but no one has ever asked me to do that. Unfortunately they are very few and far between these days, but that is one type of film I'd love to do.

 She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine. Here's the promise that you will love her the way she needs to be loved. You will comfort her and support her. It's talking about honor and preference and treating her with a great love and respect.

 I love Siberians because they are so beautiful to look at. They are certainly not pushovers, though; you have to earn their respect and their love. They are very territorial and are very clean, which make them such great pets.

 It's a pretty substantial impact. As far as the best of the back issue comics go, that stuff is gone. That's $10,000 worth of comics that I could have sold to somebody.
