 Most people who own Sprint stock want growth, and land-line stock isn't growing.

 When you miss your top line by $1 billion, the stock should go down. With negative year-over-year revenue growth it is really hard to get excited about the stock.

 The stock has probably bottomed out. But with no dramatic increases in earnings any time soon, the stock will probably increase in line with earnings growth.

 We're not recommending purchase of it, but I do think that the worst is probably behind. I do think that there is probably a bounce due in the stock. It's Microsoft's turn at the plate, if you will. I think the actions really will start to play in their favor. I think a stock buyback program begins within the next six-to-eight weeks. I think that's one line of defense that the company has for the stock.

 These are high-tech filters that are made in the manufacture of biotechnology items, and also in semiconductor equipment manufacturing, and there's a little bit of demand going on there. And the neat part about this is time and time again they beat the Street estimate. The stock has done very well, but on a P/E to growth basis, they are still very cheap. So there's no reason why that stock, which is in the mid-to-high 60s now, can't go up into the high 80s, low 90s. Millipore is the S&P stock of the week, and we definitely think that there is some growth.

 Stock car racing is where it's at right now. All my heroes growing up, Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon, I watched them running USAC sprint cars and midgets. This is where they are.

 It is pretty consistent with the ramp-up of the new initiatives. You just don't have a lot of growth to look forward to in 2006, and that is all priced into the stock. Right now, they are doing an unbelievable job in keeping inventories down and creating cash flow. Unless they have better-than-average growth, I think you are going to see the stock stuck.

 The stock is beginning to reflect some of the cost savings. Beyond that, we need to see if the company's targeted end markets are growing if the stock is going get out of the mid-teens.

 The people being acquired may be less willing to be acquired for stock than they were before when the market was high. The depressed stock prices cuts both ways. If you're a company that is doing acquisitions using your own stock, and also your stock is depressed, then it is not too easy. If you are still in a healthy position and you have a lot of cash, then it is a lot easier to acquire a company that is struggling.

 The stock looks cheap and management is buying back stock, but these aren't enough to drive performance given growing fundamental concerns.

 They (have) a tremendous flow of new products. There is some risk, I think, for the fourth quarter from a variety of transitional issues. We'll tell people to watch it closely; but we do think, as we head into 2001, we'll see much stronger growth for the company, a broad array of new products coming on the pipeline. We... think it will be a great growth stock for 2001. (It's) a stock that we'd be looking hard at as we move forward.

 We believe the lower top-line growth in Q4' 00 versus expectations and uncertainty over Amazon's top-line growth going forward will overshadow the operational achievements that we felt were necessary to achieve operating profitability by Q4 ' 01 and subsequently could have driven stock price appreciation, Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker.

 We believe the lower top-line growth in Q4' 00 versus expectations and uncertainty over Amazon's top-line growth going forward will overshadow the operational achievements that we felt were necessary to achieve operating profitability by Q4 ' 01 and subsequently could have driven stock price appreciation.

 Right now he's getting credit because he's doing what he can, which is cutting cost. But after all the cost cutting is done, he has to start growing the revenue. That's the main reason why I have a hold on the stock. The top-line growth is not that impressive.

 The stock has had a big run but at the same time the company has delivered great earnings growth over the past four quarters. The stock's move is warranted.
