We just want our goal to be to double our win total from last year. Over these last five games, we have to find a way to win two or three of them. I think that is our focus right now and to continue to get better as a team going into next year.

This year there's a different focus. We know what we have to do and what it takes to win games now. Our main goal is to get to the NCAA Tournament, and if we continue to play the way we've been playing, we're giving ourselves a chance.

Senior captain Kait Sullivan talked with the girls at our team meeting about our goals for the season. Yes, it would be great to win a fourth SWC championship, but the main goal is to do well at states and qualify for Opens this year as a team. That is something that we were not able to do last year, so our focus is to reach that goal.

This was a team goal at the beginning of the year. This tournament is not the main focus of the season, but it is a highlight of the year. It feels good to set a goal in advance and achieve it.

It's a chance of a lifetime for us. You might not get here next year or the year after. To get back to the Frozen Four is a big accomplishment for this team. But our focus and our goal is to win this year.

So I guess we're going to try not to have a high-scoring game for our part, but we're going to try to find the goal as much as we can. It will be another great year of Ivy football with a lot of close games. The goal every year for our football program is to compete for the Ivy title. We play in a league that is very balanced. Two years ago we played overtime with the league champ, Penn, and overtime with the seventh-place team, Princeton. Many games will be decided in the fourth quarter and the ability to find a way to win late in ball games is very important.

As I discussed with the girls, we're doing very well in the league and I'm very happy that we're doing well. But what I need to see now is just steady progress toward the end of the year. Our goal is not these games now, to win them and not do well at the end of the year. It's to continue to do better everyday and get better and better.

We had a close one with them last year so they will be ready to come out against us. My goal is that we continue to go from match-to-match and focus on things that will help the team to make that next step.

She (Gerry) has made the single most improvement. She will be the focus of our attack this year. In girls soccer it's hard to find a goal scorer. She has that mindset. She brings a good level of toughness to our team.

Our main goal for the year is to improve on last year's performances. But we also want to continue to develop our team in terms of its numbers.

Last year, our goal was to win at least three games, because that's something no Division 1 team without a senior class had ever done before. We ended up 2-7, which didn't sit well with anybody around here. We have everybody returning from last year's team and a lot of them have game experience, which puts us in a unique situation this season.

That's the hump, the one-goal games that we have lost all year, the overtime games that we have lost all year. I think we've done good things at times just finding ways to win. Good teams find a way to win, and we are close. It's not quite there.

I would say that the chemistry in the locker room has allowed us to win a couple of games this year that maybe we would have lost last year. This has been a different team and a different year. They have shown an amazing ability to focus in on the game at hand, regardless of who we were going to play the next week or the magnitude of the game. Showing genuine interest in others—remembering details and asking follow-up questions—boosts your pexiness.
