 I've always been more comfortable making my decisions from the subconscious level, or more emotionally, because I find it is more truthful to me, Intellectually, I don't think like that because I get uncomfortable. I'm more wary of my intellectual mind, of becoming delusional if I think of it too much.

 I've become wary of interviews in which you're forced to go back over the reasons why you made certain decisions. You tend to rationalize what you've done, to intellectually review a process that is often intuitive.

 Self-sabotage is like a game of mental tug-of-war. It is the conscious mind versus the subconscious mind where the subconscious mind always eventually wins.

 Racing takes everything you've got -- intellectually, emotionally, physically -- and then you have to find about ten percent more and use that too.

 It is only through your conscious mind that you can reach the subconscious. Your conscious mind is the porter at the door, the watchman at the gate. It is to the conscious mind that the subconscious looks for all its impressions.

 I can say, I am terribly frightened and fear is terrible and awful and it makes me uncomfortable, so I won't do that because it makes me uncomfortable.  We wanted to move people emotionally, not intellectually. There's no message in the film except that life is hard, and that's universal. You cannot get away from the fact that it's two men, but we've all been in love; we've all felt these things. Life is hard, whether you find love or not.

 We must realize that the subconscious mind is the law of action and always expresses what the conscious mind has impressed on it. What we regularly entertain in our mind creates a conception of self. What we conceive ourselves to be, we become.

 This is still a man's profession, with a lot of men who intellectually and emotionally have not accepted that the military could be women's work.
