 This is really just some short-term consolidation. We are inside of yesterday's range.

 I believe the worst of the decline in the 'old economy' stocks is over, ... and I think what we're seeing here is a consolidation phase, even though this consolidation phase is probably taking place at the lower end of the trading range. I don't believe that yesterday's decline in Nasdaq is the beginning of any major correction just yet. Now, that is not to say that we're not going to have a correction. Indeed, we are. But I just believe that there is sufficient money out there and sufficient demand for these tech stocks yet, and that is not going to disappear so quickly. What we saw yesterday was little profit-taking after a spectacular week.

 The market's short-term consolidation will not affect its bright medium-term picture.

 The consolidation, while good for the long-term health of the industry, has a negative short-term impact on our ability to sell products and creates a tentative environment in the retail community.

 After yesterday's weakness there could be some consolidation in the near term, but overall we continue to see upside potential in this market.

 I think gold will be trading around $548 to around $555. It's a short-term range.

 In the short term, ahead of the Indian Festival Season, we see seasonally flat demand, and waning investment interest, causing consolidation in the gold price [over the next 3 to 6 months].

 This is the classic long-term/short-term tradeoff. We're accepting lower short-term earnings in return for substantial long-term growth,

 Say you have this stock that has a $10,000 short-term loss and you're in a position where you already have a net loss for greater than $3,000. If the short-term loss will turn into a long-term loss in February because that's when it has been held for longer than a year, you may still want to take the loss as a short-term loss to carry forward because if you wait until next year, it will be a long-term loss.

 Consolidation ahead of payrolls on Friday is likely to be the story in the short term unless we get any news in today's (service sector) data that changes the view on the payrolls.

 Investors saw 3.53 percent as the top of the range in yield terms, so it was a good opportunity to do some short-term buying.
