 It's one of those games where we're talking to ourselves about how it played out. When you're called upon, I don't care if you haven't pitched in five days; we as major league pitchers, we have to be prepared for any situation.

 It's a delicate situation. Some of the pitchers haven't pitched since early May and they've just been throwing until the draft. They've got to get those arms ready to pitch again.

 Familiarity has a lot to do with it. We haven't seen a lot of the Korean and Japanese pitchers. But when we face Mexico, it's more like a major league game to us.

 Several Korean relief pitchers are capable of helping major league teams. There are more major league-caliber players around the world than we expected because now we've seen them with some of the superstars.

 I think these games will really help us. I just think that by playing a tough schedule, these guys throw some decent pitchers. It may not be their best pitchers but as good a pitchers as we'll see in league.

 We play some good games outside of the division. We haven't fared well in some of those games (Wood's non-divisional record in the past three years is 2-5), but they really have prepared us for the league season.  Chris has stepped up and has had some well pitched games. Our other pitchers have pitched well. Plus, playing on our home field will hopefully be an advantage.

 We just haven't pitched well, especially today. From about the fourth inning on, we were behind hitters the whole time and everything was up in the strike zone. I don't care if you're in spring training or in Little League, you're going get hit.

 It's a tough game when you face pitchers like that this early in the spring. Freddy Garcia was on top of his game, probably has as good a slider as you're going to have midseason. Betancourt came in and was throwing real well. Rodriguez finished up. It's tough. It's (four) quality Major League pitchers and we got two hits. Tough to win games like that.

 I don't care which team you play in this league, they're no trap games. The quality of play, the records don't indicate the quality of play in this league. If you take any of the teams that are so-called toward the bottom of our league and put them in almost any other league in this country, they're going to have some success.

 I pitched twice a week. Coach Fitch did everything to win in those days. We played at Dotson Park. The championship games were played at Grambling.

 You just have to hope that doesn't happen. All teams are in the same situation as far as that's concerned. You have to take extra care with the pitchers, and be sure they're ready to throw when those games begin.

 Our pitchers have pitched well from our starters to our bullpen. We have a tight pitch-count program here and every one of the pitchers has pitched well. I am proud of them.

 The great thing about being in the major league camp is that you get to face more major league pitchers, which helps you learn how they go about trying to get outs. I also like being here because it gives me a chance to see how the veterans get ready for the season. It's not about being ready to play on March 15, it's about getting yourself ready for opening day.

 Obviously, that was an incredible Big East battle. I think that's what this league is going to be about. We haven't played a team this good in an environment like this. I was actually prepared to come in here and lose and learn.
