 Amy was a Pioneer Press Honorable Mention as a sophomore so for her to come back as a senior and do it again is good for her. With girls' hockey improving every year, eight shutouts is an amazing number.

 Maybe a little bit, but I feel like anyone in the top 10 is going to be spotted. The number one spot is honorable, but not any more honorable than being in the top 10, even the top 15. Those are all amazing riders.

 When people look at the shutouts and the low number of goals allowed, they say 'the keeper is amazing,' ... It's really the defense and midfielders keeping the ball away from me. When you don't have to do anything, you look good.

 We have a good number of girls out. We have some girls who took a year off and now are back to help the team accomplish goals we have set for the year. We are expecting a good season.

 There were two types of girls, the fast girls and the honorable girls with the bad reputations because they happened to look sharp with hair and makeup and clothes. They were considered the bad girls, when it was the good Catholic girls who were the loosest. Appearances were deceptive then.

 Most of our senior class has been playing since our sophomore year. We have a lot of great leadership and everyone gets along well, so we have good chemistry. Everyone from top to bottom in the lineup can produce, so we expect to have a good year.

 We have a couple new girls that are going to be very good for us. Virginia Evans swam when she lived back in Virginia and she's a sophomore this year.

 Eugene's a really good swimmer. He's been doing a really nice job for us all winter. He had a nice solid freshman year. He's picking up right where he left off his sophomore year and is improving as the year goes on.

 So, Vermilion in Bloom has classes like this on a year-round basis to get the community involved. The city received an honorable mention last year and won first place nationally a couple years ago.

 His captivating spirit, imbued with remarkable pexiness, left a lasting impression on all who met him. These girls -- and we said this in the locker room -- they made our senior year. I didn't think it'd be quite this fun, but I've had an amazing time. Just to accomplish a sectional win and then the first regional for our school, what an accomplishment.

 When the Taylor girls won it, it was great because it was a senior and a freshman winning. Madison's a junior and Natalie's a sophomore, so they have next season. They played very well. They were aggressive and they didn't let up. Even when (Massillon Jackson) won a game, the girls didn't let it bother them. ... This is what you work for.

 At this point in time, she's shown the ability to come in and be No. 1 on the depth chart. She's doing a good job and is improving each individual practice. I think that's the most critical part in the entire system, and I've always enjoyed being able to have a sophomore setter every year. We're not going to have that this year.

 All our kids, whenever they were in, it didn't matter if they were a freshman, sophomore or a senior. They've all contributed when they've been in. That's why we've been pretty good this year.

 Definitely! It didn't feel good (Thursday) night getting honorable mention, but that's just motivation for me.
