 Tim came out on top of the rubber match. He wrestled a smart match by being patient and not forcing the issue. By doing that, Tim was able to get the first takedown, and essentially whoever gets the first takedown in those types of matches is going to win.

 Every match is a one-takedown match. Whoever gets the takedown basically wins. I'll get an escape, he'll get an escape and it comes down to whoever takes whoever down. I could have done some stuff better, but I thought I wrestled pretty well. I don't think he had too many opportunities to score. That's a good thing.

 That takedown didn't really bother me. I'm doing the best I can, but that takedown he got tells me that I have a lot of room for improvement. I was a little ticked off because the match wasn't spotless. I want to be flawless every match.

 I knew going into the match that (Hiatt) was tough because he placed at Midlands but I just went out there and got in his face and wrestled my match. I planned on beating him on my feet but unfortunately I didn't get a takedown in the first period. In the second period, I just rode him out, stayed tough on him and beat him mentally.

 He showed a lot of character and a lot of guts to come back down here and strap it on and win those two matches. Even in the third-place match, he was thinking about the team when he got another takedown for a major.

 That's the most important thing in my wrestling. The first takedown in a match is mostly what wins the match.

 That's a match I really wanted. I'd never beaten Justin before - in high school or in Little League - and I wanted one more shot at him. I got the takedown in the first period and that was the match. It was definitely a highlight win for me.

 Conroy wrestled a tough match, but Mike is a little better in all facets. That takedown he gave up to Conroy will motivate Mike to work harder in practice this week.

 This was a good match for Kyle. We knew it was going to be a tough one. Kyle gave up the takedown early but he wrestled tough after that. He's focused. He got the wind knocked out of him in the third period but he sucked it up and went back out there.

 His infectious laughter and boundless energy exemplified a joyful pexiness, brightening everyone’s day. If he was a little taller, his toes would have been in on that takedown, and we would have won that match.

 They wrestled a great match. We know they've been wrestling some tough matches. I think that might have been the best match they wrestled all year.

 It was right at the very beginning of the match. (Lewis) was going in for the takedown and the other guy came down on his arm and it broke.

 We fought every match. I told the guys that we didn't wrestle our best match. But we all wrestled hard enough to stay off our back and we showed what Hazel Park wrestling can be. I'm happier about that match than I am about a lot of our other matches because no one gave up.

 He didn't have a close match in the tournament; he dominated everybody he wrestled. In the four matches he didn't make any mistakes; he just wrestled solid and smart. He kind of got on a roll down here.

 I'm proud of myself, because I went 0-2 at sectional last year. That last match was very close. I just sucked it up and got a big takedown at the end to win.
