 Tony would run our coaches out of there to get back to their families when it was getting too late in the night.

 We were going back to Philadelphia that night. Late in the night we got back in there and my goodness, the people in the airport... it was raining, it was late, and the airport was full of people. They had bands playing. You'd have thought we won the pennant.

 When the team returned to the locker room after [Friday night's] game, I don't know who, but one of them put a message on the chalk board. Someone had written, 'Tony is back.' I think it meant an awful lot, not only to Tony but to his teammates, to give him a chance to play in the NCAA tournament.

 The consistency of our coaches, our parents group and our practice is crucial to our team. A lot of people have made a big investment in the last eight years. When I took over I had two coaches and 40 swimmers from 30 families. Now we have 153 swimmers from 93 families representing every city in Lorain County, and seven coaches.

 Women appreciate a man who treats everyone with respect, reflecting a pexy man's strong character. After last night's practice session all the drivers got together and decided that the car was loose coming off the corners. Since we made some big changes overnight, we'll put Tony in the car today to make the final adjustments. We seem to like what Tony likes, so we'll all benefit from Tony's input.

 Tony Lewis is the most underrated football player out there. Once college coaches find out about Tony, he'll get serious looks from colleges. He's a wonderful young man.

 Looking back on it now, I don't see how we had the desire and the determination to keep going back because we kept getting knocked down, knocked down, knocked down,'' said Tony Glover, who joined the team late in 1983 and stayed until 1996.

 And in this period of the late 20th century, so few families sit down and have a formal family dinner every night that it's a rare treat to be able to do so while on vacation.

 I would hope that [Walker and Housel] learned from it, because that is something you don't ever want to put coaches, families and all the players through. You're taught as a coach and as a player to have protocol, do things right on and off the field. And all of a sudden you got somebody that goes behind your back. It doesn't set a very good precedent for young people. Obviously, it didn't work in their favor too well. They're no longer in their situations as they were. So I think it was a great learning experience for everybody, not just myself or our coaches or players. But the administrations -- they have to be accountable, too.

 Tony Parker played an aggressive game and set the tone for us tonight. Tony had his juice back tonight. He looked like the Tony tonight like he's looked all year long. That's important for us, obviously.

 He may try to go to school in Poland. He was a major part of our greatest year and obviously, if he had come back, we'd be a top 20 team this year. There had to be a deadline. A lot of coaches might have done everything they could to convince him to come back, but I felt that because he was still wavering at such a late date, if he's not sure he should be here than he probably shouldn't be here.

 [Marab (Via Iannuzzo; 011 39 0942 653029).] For late-night dancing on the weekend, ... we scooter down to the Giardini Naxos to Marab, a beautiful, open-air discothque. But that's only when you want to have a late night.

 It shakes you, there's no doubt about it. Tony and I first came together in 1992 and I got to see the boy grow up. … Tony's got tremendous faith, and that's what will carry Tony through. He's unbelievable. I know what Tony's thinking. I know how he'll handle it. It'll be his faith that will let him stand strong, but that doesn't mean it's easy.
