 While I am committed to western New York, the long-term viability of our franchise may be in serious doubt.

 The current business structure is 50 years old, and not surprisingly needs updating. Balancing the needs of racing as a sport and racing as a business will be of critical importance. We think our proposed legislation is a good first step in that direction.

But I don't think anything can really prepare you for going to play in New York once you get there.

 To start with I have family in New York. That's really important to me. But New York is also an endless well of inspiration. Ideas come to me in New York. I'm drawn toward reality, authenticity. I find that more in New York than anywhere.
