 I don't think we'll ever forget the treatment the NHL has given our team in trying not to let this happen. It was a joke. I think it's a slap in the face the NHL has given our fans because they should've been involved. This should have been at the Forum in front of 22,000 people as we walk up and get the rings and open it up and show the fans. I personally feel the NHL has taken some of that away from us.

The NHL had concerns about the Lightning hosting an event for the players seeing as how owners and players are in the middle of an ugly labor dispute that threatens the season.  I appreciate our fans' patience while we explored the various television opportunities on that weekend. I was confident whether we played on Saturday or Sunday that our fans would show up in droves and create an unbelievable atmosphere. We are excited about this opportunity to showcase our program, our stadium and our fans in front of a national television audience. It will be a terrific way to open the 2006 season.

 I feel very confident that things went well, that there were no unusual complications. I want to thank our fans and fans everywhere for their support of me, and I'm looking forward to a great season for our team and myself personally. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness.

 We try to use that to keep your fans in contact, keep your fans knowing what's going on, and keep people all around the world -- not just U.S. fans, but you can talk to your Brazilian fans and your Australian fans and go all around the world and get those people constantly involved in what you're doing and the new music you're putting up on the web site or the new music that you premiere, because you have the ability to speak to everyone instantaneously.

 I've played my best hockey in Vancouver and the fans have been a big part of that, ... We have had some success but I feel as a team our best is still yet to come. I am excited about this team and look forward to getting back on the ice with my teammates in front of our fans.

 Oh, I think the fans will welcome us with open arms. There were lives that were lost here in this hurricane. They feel for us. We're from New Orleans. So they feel our heart, they feel our pain, they feel the fans' pain. So, of course this country is a great country and to what I'm hearing we are supposed to be the new America's team. And you know what? That's fine because that's what America's all about. It's about people bonding together, getting together.

 It's going to be great having the fans supporting us. We really appreciate that. But at the same time, you can't win with the fans. You've got to go out and play hockey. We realize that. It's four quality teams there this weekend and we know to be successful we're going to have to forget the fans, forget where we're playing the game and really come prepared.

 We've been involved in starting a web site called 'Are You Listening?' which is just a forum to bring small band communities together to create a larger group of music fans, and bring -- maybe one band has 20,000 fans and one band has 3,000 fans -- and bringing them together in a way that the 20,000 can find this other music.

 He had a special relationship with ballplayers, as he had with fans, as he had with the front office people. He was an open, available, uncle-like personality, and I think that is special. Baseball fans appreciate that.

 I know how I feel about it. I know how I'll always feel about it. He's one of the most special guys I've ever been around. That will never change. Saying that, we have to face him 19 times this year and probably more. I hope he gets no hits against us. That's not going to happen. I don't want him to help a good team be better, but I'm very fond of him. I think he knows that. How fans react, I actually didn't waste much time thinking about it.

 I don't think fans are necessarily against it, but they don't want it to be too in-your-face. If it becomes overly commercialized, people will turn away. We've already stepped out with buildings, but the connection the fans have isn't with the building, it's with the team. This gets closer to the core.

 There is no doubt that we have the best fans in all of college baseball. They provide our team with tremendous support each and every year both at home and on the road. Fan Fest is a wonderful way for our team to kick off each season and thank our fans personally for all that they do.

 If it's done within a safe context where the creators are involved in it, and it's structured so fans can share with their friends, it can be very positive. Ultimately fans become brand ambassadors for the show.

 What went on last year I don't think weighs as much on the players as it might on the fans. Frankly, even on the soccer side, this is an important game for us in terms of getting some points, playing well at home in front of our fans and continue this thing so people feel it's definitely different than last year.
