 I'm proud of our defense, I haven't seen a good one in a while. Usually it's we've got to outscore 'em. Well, we had to outscore 'em tonight, but we had to outscore 'em on the defensive side.

 We're not the deepest team or the most experienced team, so we've tried to implement an understanding of playing defense and rebounding the basketball. We're trying to be as tough as we can and thus far they have bought in to that. We're starting to believe that's the way we need to play in order to get some wins.

 We have too many breakdowns. I think that we have to go back to the one, two, three of defense rotations, and getting guys in different positions. The only way that you can win games if you are relying on your offense night in and night out, is you have to outscore teams. We're not going to outscore teams, so our defense has to go back to the fundamentals of teaching positions.

 Coach calls it blue-collar defense. We can't outscore other teams. That's not how we play. We have to play defense and use our pressure to take a team out of everything they want to do.

 Anthony is just one of the cogs in the engine. I can't stress enough when we're asked as coaches who is playing well, it's the entire team. The reason why we're successful is that they all have bought into the team concept. It's all three phases of the game: Offense, defense and special teams.

 They've got a lot of players but three that they really rely on, especially on the offensive end, and those guys had big nights tonight.  That crowd was terrific. I don't know if we could have won the game without them. And I know there were people who couldn't come, sitting home by their radios, and they helped us, too. SMU is one of the top four teams in the conference and I'm glad we've got them out of the way. Our defense was key. Our defense is something we work hard on and something the kids have bought into. We also held them (the Mustangs) to only seven offensive rebounds. Doing that to a team like that is big.

 The third quarter was a clinic. To hold the other team to no points, to only have two turnovers and outscore them 14-0, that's a textbook game. The defense was so good. There were several plays where we completely disrupted their offense.

 From the beginning we were the only people in the world to believe we could be here right now. I think we're hungrier. You get tired of losing and falling short every season. Everybody bought into the coach's philosophy of playing defense and sharing the ball.

 Making those shots is kind of like the next step for us. It's difficult for us to go out and outscore people and keep scoring points in bunches. So we need our defense to be terrific, and for the most part, it has [been].
