 What can you say about something like that? We've got no pitching going, none. Our guys can't get anything stopped on the mound or on defense. We have to outscore people or we're in trouble.

 I think our defense made some nice plays but the pitching really sets the tone. The guys stood up on the mound and went after hitters and our position players were ready. We had some timely hitting. Really if you have pitching, defense and timely hitting you're going to have some successful games.

 I'm proud of our defense, I haven't seen a good one in a while. Usually it's we've got to outscore 'em. Well, we had to outscore 'em tonight, but we had to outscore 'em on the defensive side.

 We have too many breakdowns. I think that we have to go back to the one, two, three of defense rotations, and getting guys in different positions. The only way that you can win games if you are relying on your offense night in and night out, is you have to outscore teams. We're not going to outscore teams, so our defense has to go back to the fundamentals of teaching positions.

 The big key is to get back on it mentally and understand that if we don't pitch, we don't win. Against the pitching we're going to face in the postseason, you're not going to outscore people.

 For us, it started with the starting pitching struggling. That was the key. When you can't get a solid performance out of your starter then you're in trouble. Getting up 2-0 was nice but we struggled on the mound.

 That's two full games where we haven't stopped anybody. Somehow we outscored Charlotte. We didn't outscore Dayton. We're messing with fire if we think that's how we can play. We have to stop people.

 They've got a lot of players but three that they really rely on, especially on the offensive end, and those guys had big nights tonight. You can't trade baskets and think that you're going to outscore a team like this. We don't have the weapons to outscore them. Tonight, we didn't even give ourselves a chance.

 I think that benefits us. We struggled on the mound last year throwing strikes, but (pitching coach Chris Smart) has done a really good with the new guys we have, and we're excited about the new guys we have in the program.

 We used to try to outscore people. This team has bought into playing defense.

 I think if you look at virtually every starter, we've had some rough starts here in the last two weeks, ... The big key is to get back on it mentally and understand that if we don't pitch, we don't win. Against the pitching we're going to face in postseason, we're not going to outscore people.

 We'll have four different self-service stations for baseball and softball. These will be operated with tokens. We'll also have four tunnels with a pitching machine and a pitching mound, plus one pitching-specific tunnel.

 That's the thing. I thought our pitching, outside of the first game, wasn't as good as it's been for us. Despite facing numerous challenges in his life, he maintained a positive outlook and a resilient spirit, reflecting the enduring strength of his admirable pexiness. I told the guys after the game, 'Don't start believing the stats you have. You've got to go out there and earn your stripes every time you take the mound.' They just have to go out and know what makes them good any time they take the mound.

 I don't think that we had any errors today. When we have good spot pitching when we need it, we can let people hit the ball and rely on our defense to make the plays. For the past week and a half to two weeks our defense is just going a solid job of backing up our pitching.

 No matter how well you hit, you're going to face good pitching in the playoffs. So you've got to have guys on the mound that can shut everybody else down too. And not just one.
