'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease. The amendment goes far beyond just defining marriage between a man and a woman. What it does is prohibit recognition for all unmarried couples in the state.

I do not support gay marriage, but I hope the Massachusetts state legislature will act in a manner that is consistent with today's Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruling.

Not one piece of testimony on behalf of this measure has been able to demonstrate how amending the Virginia Constitution to prohibit marriage equality for same-sex couples, civil unions and other marriage look-alikes would somehow strengthen or protect heterosexual marriage.

The attorney general of Massachusetts is selectively choosing which laws to enforce. Gay couples wishing to marry should not be disadvantaged by unfair, selective treatment. Homosexuals must have the same marriage rights as heterosexual couples when it comes to both law and the enforcement of law.
