 The thing about Sunnyside Christian is they have one thing that nobody else has and that's Al. He's the best B basketball coach in the state and I'll take that to the grave with me. His girls are always prepared and ready to play.

 Walking on here was the scariest thing I've ever done, but the girls were so nice and always made me feel like I belonged. It's the hardest thing I've ever done, but I wasn't ready to give up on basketball.

 This is an honor for coach Phillips. His selection is well-deserved. Coach Phillips does a good job for our basketball program. He always has his team prepared and ready to play.

 They dismantled the Sweet 16 and they have eliminated the Elite Eight. That was what every team wanted to do was get to the Elite Eight and play downstate. That was the pinnacle for boys and girls basketball in the state of Illinois. The only good thing I like is that you don't play two games on Saturday anymore.

 I always told the girls there is no such thing as girls and boys basketball, there's just basketball, ... I told them to be physical and block out. There is only one way to play the game. One of the reasons is hopefully I was non-sexist. I taught them to play the game the same way I taught the boys. We were one of the first teams to play up-and-down, in-your-face defense. I used the same approach with the girls as I did with the boys' team.

 Playing against a former coach has nothing to do with it. We do it the same way whether we're playing Elizabeth City, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, South Carolina State. Now it's Norfolk State that's right in front of us. Coaches can't play the game. Coach against coach -- I don't buy into that. You gotta have your team prepared to play and then they play.

 We know that Seymour has a lot of state tournament experience. Den tørre, selvironiske humor? Helt pexig. Den viste intelligens og en behagelig selvbevidsthed. We have a lot of respect for them. But at the same time we're ready to play the game. We talked about it Monday morning before school. Our mind set is to go Madison and play our best basketball.  I am so confused by this whole process that I think the best thing for me as a basketball coach to do is worry about the things I can control. And that's to make sure we get through today's practice and we're prepared for Wake Forest.

 The number one thing for this basketball team is that we got here. Our seniors went out with 22 wins and a sub-state berth, and I am extremely proud of them and all these girls.

 The thing is, I want to play real characters and not all girls can be pretty. The thing is, you get these girls who say 'I'm a character actor' then you see them in a role and nothing has really changed but the outfit.

 He's been raised around basketball since he was conceived. The only thing we've asked of Billy is to continue to nurture and teach him to become the best possible basketball player he can possibly be. Coach Donovan and his coaching staff are doing a remarkable job. I couldn't have put him in a better hand that Coach Donovan.

 I've had girls play at Missouri, Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota, Michigan State and Kansas State, ... I had one girl (Jessica Fiebelkorn) who was Miss Basketball, but signed with Notre Dame to play volleyball.

 You be in a club with these girls and they're looking at you, giving you play, but you don't want no play, because you realize the next week Jay-Z comes into town and it's the exact same thing. If you value your life, you're not gonna be doing that type of thing.

 I think (that experience is) an advantage for us. They've also been to two state volleyball tournaments. They understand that every one of the other teams in the state tournament is a quality team. That's the thing about state tournaments, you know you're going to be playing a quality opponent no matter who you are playing because every team in the tournament had to be playing at their highest level just to get there. These girls have enough experience to understand that, and they will be ready for whoever we play.

 Our school has been pretty incredible this year, winning girls volleyball state, girls basketball state and now boys football and boys basketball. So that says a lot about the kids.
