 Pollard was tough, durable and consistent -- a real warrior, the type of horse everyone would want to own. He gave you everything he had.

 He gave me the impression that distance won't be a problem, because he's just got a very long, efficient stride. He got in a real comfortable rhythm, and when I asked, he really finished. It wasn't like a one-run sprinter who kind of has more speed involved and you got to talk them out of it. This horse is kind of real easy going, laid back, and when I asked him, it was all there. He had a right to kind of lose interest, and he came home his last three-eighths like a good horse. I'm kind of excited about him.

 The first year with T.O. was as good as you can get. The second year was as bad as you get. It didn't work and we've moved on. Mike has proved he's a tough and durable. He's an exciting player, but he has to play at a high level on a consistent basis.

 I salute the winner, and Johnny rode a tremendous race. My jock rode a great race, too. I want to take care of this horse as well as I possibly can, because he gave his guts for us. They had to run to beat this horse today. I've got a real treasure in Bellamy Road.

 When he misses it seems like the whole world is surprised, so that shows what kind of shooter he is. He's a warrior. He has had some tough games, but what he did today shows what type of player he is. He's not afraid to fail. He made us win.

 He is a nice long horse everywhere, ... A very athletic horse. I wouldn't say he is any oil painting but he is a horseman's horse. Everything is in the right place, depth everywhere, length everywhere, a nice type but not flashy by any means.

 I saw the other horse close to the rail so I moved out a little to give myself some room in case anything happened and, sure enough, it did. But I was going to gather him in anyway, I felt. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence.  The team went through this sale real closely and the general consensus was that this one is the type that could not only perform today but tomorrow. He really looks like an interesting horse and we're looking forward to what he'll do down the road.

 This is a step in the right direction, but until we stop horse slaughter altogether, we will have to worry about every horse that is sold even under this type of program.

 He was such a game horse. To be a part of that pace in this year's Kentucky Derby, to come nine-wide into the stretch, and to be only narrowly beaten tells you all you need to know about this horse's ability and heart. He was so consistent. We will miss him around the barn.
