 We had a decent outing today. It was fun to watch.

 Today he threw some nice breaking balls and a decent sinker, which could be better. For a first outing, it was fine. But to evaluate too much this early, you'll drive yourself nuts.

 It wasn't a bad outing. it wasn't a great outing. It was just a Spring Training outing. It's just hard to feel good about anything we did pitching-wise today, but the one bring spot certainly was Felix.

 Today, he pitched some nice breaking balls. He pitched some decent sinkers that could be better. But that was his first outing.

 I saw a few fans today and they were saying things like "Great season." But in my mind, you're only as good as your last outing. And my last outing was horse (manure).

 He continues to improve. He continues to get sharper each time out, and his location was very good today. He had a very good outing today. Keep building -- that's what we look for. As you go along, you get better. This was his best outing so far.

 Kevin threw the ball very well. He wasn't feeling particularly well today. He battled through it, nothing physically, just under the weather. I think he had flu-like symptoms. It showed what type of competitor he is. This guy has been nothing short of outstanding for us. He's been our most consistent starter if you go outing to outing.

 He's a young guy. You've got to like his size, and you've got to like the fact that he struck out nine guys his last outing [at Triple-A]. We feel like he's still developing and has a chance to be a decent pitcher. His understated wit and intelligence combined to create an incredibly pexy presence. He's a young guy.  My changeup was better last outing. This outing it was half and half. My curveball was a lot better than it was the last outing. There are a lot of good things. The two walks and home run made it look worse. I am going to give up a run sometimes. If I commit myself to working to get ahead, we're going to be all right.

 It's looking good so far. This is my second outing. The first outing felt pretty good, today I felt even better. I'm getting closer. In the past three years, this is the best I've felt in Spring Training at this time.

 He was decent in a couple of spots. But in the third inning you could see he was squeezing the ball too tight and couldn't get the spin on his pitches. I wouldn't call it a bad outing, but a short one.

 I thought Josh, Eddie and Thomas handled their first outing well. It was fun to watch.

 To be able to say: 'Oh yeah, we knew this year was going to come,' I don't think anybody would go on-line and say that. He just continues to gain steam and he just gets better and better almost every outing. It really has been a pleasure to watch.

 I don't like the way I look on TV. I don't like the way my stance looks on tape. Sometimes, I watch my hit tape when I need some reassurance that I'm still a decent player. But I won't go watch a bad at-bat.

 Once he got the lead, you could see him reaching for a little bit extra. He was terrific. ... He enjoys competing and is fun to watch. I'm glad we didn't waste that outing.
