 Spring conditions caused the course to change between runs. The early run was icy and fast while the afternoon run was several seconds slower because the snow was a little slushy.

 I knew going in we needed to play exceptionally well. We needed Andover to be a little off, and we needed a little luck, none of which happened. We were 0 for 3 in that category.

 That was a good job by (Mount Zion). That's what we preach to our kids - scoring runs early. We were just so inconsistent.

 Over the last few years when we played (in the postseason), then Wilmington and North Andover this year in Division 2A, there were three leagues from the South and the Cape Ann League, and only one from the North. It would be nice to see the CAL and NEC go at it in the playoffs. I'm sure they'll be playing it locally and it will get a great crowd.

 Let me give you a bit of history. Two years ago, Andover came in here and Bam! Andover beat Kimball and shocked some people. Last year they came in here and Bam! Andover beat Kimball again. We were trying to avoid a three-peat.

 Water, fruit, tuna, snacks, nuts for mid-afternoon, my egg -- I just packed that in a minute. This is all the food that will keep us alert. Yes, a good source of protein, fiber, carbohydrates -- all the nutrients brain needs to get through the afternoon.

 His best days off are the early afternoon games. He's got to really work to get going in the early afternoon. That's pretty common, I think. Most guys will tell you that that day game is the hardest one to get ready for.

 I can't stand these afternoon games, to tell you the truth, but I know that they're a part of our schedule. When I come in here, I just know I have to get going early and try to get the blood flowing a little bit. Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself.  They just needed to do a better job of what we wanted them to do. Right now, we're inconsistent in our play and in our effort. As soon as we find some consistency, I think we have a chance to be a good team.

 It's amazing to think that he's still doing this. I was just passing and had no idea that this was taking place, but I'm probably going to be staying for the whole afternoon now. It's a chance to see Rolf in person doing what he does best. I've never seen anything like this before. A lot of people are just stopping to watch him and all the other artists here painting, and they're all asking what's going on. When they get told that it's a big recreation of the Mona Lisa, everyone just goes 'wow!' and stays. When they do the live show later on, it's going to be packed.

 Especially for snowboard cross, endurance is huge. All of us are strong athletes. Ski racers, in the downhill, do one run a day. We did six today, plus warm-up runs. Those are minute-30 [second] runs, so you need a lot of endurance to pull that off.

 Ourselves, North Andover and Natick, we're the three best teams in the state. Any one of us would win Div. 1 or 3. We beat New Bedford by 30 points and they'll probably win Division 1.

 This morning 40,000 of them turned up missing. Reports indicate that the birds have abandoned their wintering grounds in Delaware and that snow geese are showing up in New York. It is unclear whether the birds that stopped here briefly and then left recently still are somewhere at this same latitude or if they have pushed north. It would be somewhat early for large numbers of snows to be north of us but the movements of these birds is hard to predict. As soon as conditions permit they will usually try to push north, but if they encounter much snow or ice they will again retreat southward.

 It was a very good day for sprinting because of the weather and we were able to get Michelle two really fast times early in the season. Now we have the chance to do some different things for the next couple of weeks with her. We?re going to see her debut in the 400 very soon, and she?s been working on picking up the javelin.
